At the premiere for the film Abduction, MTV caught up with - who plays 'Dana Barrett' in the two Ghostbusters films - to chat about the upcoming third installment, which has been in development hell for years and finally seems to be coming to life. Weaver says that she'd 'like it to work out', but at the same time says that she's not 'holding her breath'.
"I see Bill every now and then, [but] I'm not holding my breath," she admitted. "I'd like it to work out. I have about six movies coming out so I've been busy without thinking about it, but I hope we do it."
Weaver didn't seem too excited to talk about the project and its perpetual in limbo state, and we couldn't get her to speculate further on what the plot might revolve around. She once hinted that Murray's character Pete Venkman might appear in the movie as a slimer ghost, and that Oscar, her character's son from the second movie, would be a full-fledged Ghostbuster, which would be hilarious, but doubtful that it will come to be.
Ghostbusters 3 is scheduled to begin production next Spring.
