A new promotional video shared by Disney+ tracks the evolution of Iron Man's armour from 2008's Iron Man to Avengers: Endgame, and witnessing just how much the hero changed is truly a sight to behold...

Robert Downey Jr. first suited up as the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Armoured Avenger in 2008's Iron Man, wearing a makeshift suit he created in a cave. It was all uphill from there, of course, and Tony Stark went from donning armour which essentially had a battery life to nanotechnology which could change in response to his very thoughts.

Now, a Disney+ promo video tracks the changes Iron Man's armour went through over the years in this shared world, kicking off with the Mark I suit before culminating with the Mark 85 version seen in Avengers: Endgame. We didn't physically see Tony don 85 versions of his armour, of course, as most of those were created between the events The Avengers and Iron Man 3

Sharing the video is a reminder to fans that they can relive Iron Man's story in the MCU thanks to Disney+, but the absence of Spider-Man: Homecoming means they'll miss out on one armour!

That can't be helped due to Sony Pictures distributing the web-slinger's movies, though The Incredible Hulk and Ant-Man and The Wasp also remain absent from the streaming service. The latter is being added a few days from now, but there are currently no plans for the former to be put on Disney+.

@Bokis - Couldn't agree more with this statement. It was the perfect set of armor, before Marvel went crazy with the CGI and the nanotech suits.

My favourite cinematic superhero. Maybe second only to Chris Reeve's Superman.
RDJ will go down in history as a superhero acting legend.

Wish we could have spent more time with the armors in Iron Man 3. I get we're supposed to assume many of them were used in adventures off screen/in between his film appearances.

I still wince whenever I remember all of those Iron Man suits popping like popcorn at the end of Iron Man 3 lol....

A lot of Iron Man's armours are weak ass shit, you can see evidence of this in Iron Man 3.

The iron man armors from infinity war and endgame looked like cartoons. I have a soft spot for Mark 3 and the other early suits because of how dense they made them feel.

@oldnoname - I agree about the IF suit but I think they did a good job making the endgame suit look more bulky and practical given it was still all CGI

Who knew a B class Marvel character will end up having one of the best movie story arcs of all time spanning over 10 years. I will miss Downey in this role for sure. Looking forward to the next 3 phases! I very much would like Ty Simpkins to continue his legacy though.

I miss when Robert had something to actually wear on set. Also the new liquid suits aren't as cool.
