Awesome exclusive Galactus! I loved Sam Jackson as Nick Fury and thought he was amazing in The Other Guys...him and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson have great chemistry on screen! Wonder who Marvel could cast the latter as in order pair them up together in that S.H.I.E.L.D movie? :P

The interesting thing I got from this was when he said "how old I actually am"
This could be important. Infinity formula? Something else?

Nice! I haven't been that impressed with him as Fury but I think its because we haven't really seen him do much except throw cheesy lines at Stark! I'm sure he will rise to it when the shooting starts.

@BigBMH

Well, Jackson is supposedly playing Fury in Captain America. So maybe it's like Ultimate Origin, where Nick got immortality after being given an early version of the Super Soldier Serum during WW2.

I can't wait to see Fury in the "big steel wall" environment in The Avengers. It fits him!

Erm... King Faraday?
iconstatic

@Dynamo

True, but in the grand scheme of things, Faraday is a total D-lister. It's like comparing Batman and Night Thrasher.

Sure, there are some huge similarities, but one's really popular and the other is....who gives a shit?

That's not what I was getting. He claimed that Nick Fury was a unique character when clearly he isn't. If you claimed that about Batman i'd still correct you, popularity aside.
Also the fact that Faraday came before Fury should be considered.
You know it'd be interesting to see people's choices for 616 Fury play Faraday, considering that Marvel have gone with the Ultimate route for Fury.

Ultimate nick fury is what is essentially a combination of Isaiah Bradley and Nick Fury.

lol I love how all of the actors are spilling the secrets in these interviews! Ruffalo confirming 3D, and SLJ with all of the pertinent Fury info.

Sam Jackson start out as Isaiah Bradley and is under comand of the orignal Nick Fury Bruce Willis AWSOME!

iconstatic@ It doesn't matter whether it is the ultimate or regular version of Fury. Both took the Infinity Serum. ;-)

I find it funny people are so quick to criticize SLJ when he had little screen time to even develop any type of character role. What he did he did well, whether it was familiar to me or not.

Anil@ I find your sentiments interesting considering Ultimate Fury was derived from SLJ. Again, he didn't have enough screen time for me to be the least bit critical of his performance. Seemed like Ultimate Fury/SLJ to me. To each their own.

@LEEE- That's total bullshit, Sam Jackson is an excellent actor and he did a great job as Nick Fury. You're just hating on pretty much everything just now, for no reason at all. It seems like everyone of your comment involves a [frick] [insert studio or actor name here] and a shitty pun on a movie you're not looking forward too.
TheDarqueOne
TheDarqueOne - 9/25/2010, 4:52 PM
It is interesting to learn such details before the film comes out. I am reasonably pleased to hear that Fury does follow the long life of the original. I have read a lot of the main Ultimates but never the full details of that Fury's background. Guess I will have to go look that up.

DeWayne "The Rock" Johnson for NAMOR.....what do the rest of you think???
tripttwe
tripttwe - 9/26/2010, 12:27 PM
Anyone who thinks he shouldn't play a role that was revised based on HIM is an idiot. Classic Fury is cool, but by the time Marvel makes the "Ultimates" movie I'm sure we'll all be dead! Let's get the actual person in while we can...
