Finally, here are the juicy leftovers from the recent
Iron Man 2 press junket held in L.A., the little bits and pieces that didn't fit into my other articles.
----------
Writer
Justin Theroux discusses scripting for a cast prone to ad-libbing:
"It's a heavily improvisational set, you know, in that everyone gets to sort of chime in. So, my job, I think, as the writer, was sort of just to stay on the dance shoes of Robert and Jon and Gwynn and everybody and just sort of try and re-write things on the fly. So, we did have, like, an extensive development process, obviously, sort of where we actually had a script and then that ball just keeps rolling into production and once we're on the set it gets very frenetic and fast."
----------
Marvel Studios President
Kevin Feige on how
Iron Man 2 fits into the overall timeline:
"I think
Jon [Favreau, director] has already revealed on his Twitter that Iron Man 2
takes place after or slightly concurrently with The Incredible Hulk
."
At this point, Favreau interjected:
"No, before."
Feige quickly corrected himself, revealing in the process a major "Easter egg" that fans should be on the look out for:
"No, it's definitely before. It takes place before, but if you pay attention towards the end of the film, you'll see a little clue that tells you it happened before The Incredible Hulk
."
----------
Actor
Robert Downey, Jr. on the rumors that he might be playing Vampire Lestat in a remake of
Interview with the Vampire:
"I mean, anything that's going on, just imagine it's been offered to me."
----------
Finally, despite being scolded by Downey, Jr. for asking two questions about
Sam Rockwell, I managed to sneak in a third question. I asked if there was still a possibility of
Scarlett Johansson leading a solo
Black Widow spin-off movie:
Feige:
"Yes, absolutely."
Favreau:
"Hell, yes!"
