Samuel L. Jackson Updates his Nick Fury Role in Iron Man 2

Clearly, Samuel L. Jackson has been in some of the most fun genre movies of our time. Over the weekend, he updated one of his up and coming roles as the head agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.

At a press junket on Sunday, Jackson replied that...

"As a matter of fact, IRON MAN director Jon Favreau spoke to me at the Scream Awards last night, and told me that Nick Fury would have a much more prominent role in the second one (Iron Man II)."

Jackson also went on to say that he is looking forward to working with Don Cheadle who will be playing Jim Rhodes (and possibly War Machine) in the sequel

well, my opinion has changed. My previous standpoint was that Don Cheadle, though one of my favorite actors but not right for war machine. Let Terrence Howard keep the role

My NEW opinion is that Don Cheadle will be great. I have so much respect for Sam Jackson that if he says it'll be good, i'll believe him. He has very seldom made bad career choices and he knows what he's talking about. so if he says that Cheadle is good for war machine, i believe him.

Do you know who's the best dude to play jim Rhodes-- ROBERT DOWNEY JR.! Who else? Make it a dual role. Why not let Tom Cruise replace Jeff Bridges as Obadiah. Reboot everything since that is the trend. NOT!!! Please Continuity!

Anyway, what I'm interested is to see Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury during WW II. Wonder if there will be a meetinig with Nick Fury and Steve Rogers and even Logan (Wolverine).

Jackson playing Fury is cool and follows the Ultimates universe but I was thinking to myself the other day, "Self who would make a cool Fury [besides the one The Hoff played way back when] and I thought of Eastwood.

Cheadle is a great actor but he's not Rhodes. Not a good choice as War Machine.
Leave T. Howard.

Howard should stay as Rhodes. Jackson as Fury rules.

Eastwood would be great if they new movies were following the old storylines of fury being a ww2 veteran, but given the success of the Ultimates and the relevancy of those story lines, it fits far more neatly into the 21st century having jackson play the character given it was based on him. Also fury in the ultimates universe is in his 50's so dont expect any ww2 references about the character, more likely the gulf war. Most MARVEL produced movies from now on will most likely be drawing form the ultimates universe with hints of classic story arcs thrown in.
