Will Stark's biological rejection lead to his donning of the Extremis Armor?

How does Stark end up wearing the Mark VI with the TRIANGULAR CHEST PIECE?

IS THIS EXTREMIS?

Here is a new pic from yours truly showing Stark with his messed up chest.

Many have been speculating that Mark VI will be Extremis, mainly due to the two armors' similarities and the triangular chest pieces both armors sport.

"After being critically injured during a battle with a nanotech-enhanced foe, Stark injected his nervous system with a modified techno-organic virus to save his own life. This fused Stark's armor to his body, allowing him to store the inner layers of the Iron Man armor in the hollows of his bones as well as control it through direct brain impulses. The Extremis enhancement has turned Stark into a cyborg, whereby the usage of his existing lockchip (a personal area networking implement implanted in his forearm) is directly integrated into his nervous system." -- Wikipedia | Iron Man's Armor

This suit made Stark literally an Iron Man. He could "talk" to machines and control satellites with his mind. He could make phone calls without speaking. He could even put on his suit by merely thinking he was wearing it.

Do you really think Jon Favreau's going to put this in the movie?!?!

Since when was he in a hurry?

It would be extremely cool for Extremis to be translated to film, but it would be too much, too epic, too soon.

I am 1000 percent sure that Extremis won't show up in Iron Man 2 (But I'm not ruling out the possibility of it being used in the sequels or The Avengers.)

Here's my proof. It's been in our faces for a long time now.

The images above do not show us Stark cutting Vibranium! Many CBMers are getting to speculative in the forums.

It shows us Stark making his new Arc Reactor.

See! He's solving this infection thingy by making a new Arc Reactor with his particle collider.

So, I believe that this biological rejection, or infection, or whatever you call it, is just that.

He might get it because of an injury in a fight. Or somebody might have deliberately given him a chest infection. Or his Arc Reactor is too weak to support him nowadays. Or maybe his body doesn't feel normal with a machine stuck into it.

Believe what you want to believe, but no, Stark is not going to start injecting himself with Extremis.

Jon Favreau would have made Stark use it for a more significant reason. Maybe we'll see Stark use it in his battles against Mandarin in the future.

And bringing out this much coolness in just the second movie would be an unintelligent move for Marvel. Marvel is smart enough to save the best for last, or for the Avengers at least. Bringing in the Extremis 2 or 3 movies from now would be a smarter move. We have something amazing to look forward to.

Iron Man is all about progression and innovation. If Favs and Marvel bring out the most bleeding edge and hardcore technology, how is it going to progress?

Case in point: Marvel Comics' Invincible Iron Man story lines from 'Extremis' to 'Stark Disassembled' to 'Resilient'. We see Stark donning the Extremis Armor in 'Extremis'. We readers got the upgrade we expected Stark to have every 2 to 4 years or so.

A few years later, next month to be exact, Marvel will not give us an upgrade, they will give us a downgrade. But its a good downgrade nonetheless. I think of the new Siege/Resilient armor as a cheap present in shiny and appealing gift wrapping. It still isn't as good as Extremis. (But I still love it though.)

See. If we get the Extremis now, what would the writers think of next?

To top this all off, Iron Man 2 is already so cramped for Extremis to be included. As much as I love Iron Man, and my trust in Favs and RDJ, I'm still a bit worried about how it'll be executed. Yes, the trailers were great. Yes, us fanboys are getting what we want. But, its getting pretty much like Spider-Man 3.

You see, Iron Man is about a lot of things, I mean, A LOT of things. How in blazes do you get to tell a story about a new villain called Whiplash; Tony's dad and his past; the Avenger Initiative; S.H.I.E.L.D.; another new character called Black Widow; yet another new addition, War Machine; a love triangle; Justin Hammer; Hammer Drones; 3 new Marks; Stark's Feud with the Government; A "chest infection"; the whole thing's connection to the Ten Rings and the Mandarin; and a lot more other stuff (I don't want to jinx it so I'll stop) in about two and a half hours!?!?!?

It's Spider-Man 3 (or Revenge of the Fallen) all over again. Sense gets traded for Action. Lots of new characters. Lots of stories. And oh dear, a black costume. And the main character's life gets messed up and goes dark.

None of us want it to happen again. And I know Marvel doesn't want it to happen again. Iron Man is too precious a franchise for it to be treated badly. They have to remember that if they screw up just one piece of the big puzzle known as 'Avengers', the whole plan is going to blow to pieces.

Marvel, no Extremis please. Well, not yet.

IRON TODD OUT. (I'm on a roll.)

Thanks Everyone and...COMMENT!

i don't think extremis will be in this...mostly because it sucks. sure its a badass suit, but no one has EVER explained how it works.

so this armor is stored inside Stark's body, inside his bones more specifically. the armor comes out of his body when he wears it. i just want some kind of explanation how the armor goes from being inside his bones, to exiting his body and covering him. how does that not kill him?? the armor exiting his body and covering him is something that has never been shown or explained...because its stupid. in one scene Stark is normal, and then all of a sudden, he's in his armor a few pages later. it never shows it actually coming out of his body.

it was just a stupid idea, that no one can explain. so no, i doubt very seriously it will be in this...

I don't know much about the Extremis Armor, but I do know that it wasn't the first time he donned armor with a triangle. I know this suit ain't red and silver, but it could be a slight nod to my favorite Iron Man suit: The Silver Centurion Armor!

Extremis will never work in any live action movie, save that bullshit for the comics

Has anyone heard the black widow speak yet? That's the big mystery... CAN SHE ACT??? If she's not Russian, I'm not happy.

He does say in the trailer 'I am iron man, the suit and I are one'. Can't see it happening though.

@ASSASSIN666: Maybe extremis could work on film. After all he will be alongside Thor and the Hulk in the Avengers films. And having an Asgardian God from another realm that inhabits other Gods and creatures... plus a Man that transforms into an all powerful green monster..."Hey i'm Tony Stark! And i'm standing next to some of the greatest potential threats to Earth...where's my Extremis!?" Get it?

Also that briefcase armor in the trailer is comicbook enough to say unrealistic! I mean who on Earth will accept that in a movie? Me!!! :D

Great job and p.o.v. IronTodd!!

But I do realize extremis is too soon to bring into film. Heck I would like to see the Stealth armor,Prometheum,or Ablative armors...or like GarageNinja said...The Silver Centurion Armor which will be the briefcase armor in IM2! War Machine!!!!!!!!
