IRON MAN Star Gwyneth Paltrow On Potential MCU Return: "Call Up Marvel And Yell At Them, Not Me"

Gwyneth Paltrow has once again addressed a potential return as Pepper Potts, and it sounds like she has very little interest in being a part of the MCU without Iron Man...

Gwyneth Paltrow debuted as Tony Stark's (Robert Downey Jr.) love-interest Pepper Potts in the first Iron Man movie, and has since made several notable Marvel Cinematic Universe appearances, ultimately getting the chance to suit-up as Rescue in Avengers: Endgame.

Unfortunately, 2019's Infinity Saga finale concluded with Stark's noble demise, and we haven't seen Miss Potts since.

Because Rescue could now operate as a hero in her own right, Paltrow is often asked about potentially reprising the role, but it sounds like she has very little interest in returning without Iron Man.

While taking part in a Q&A with fans on Instagram (via Variety), Paltrow was asked: "why did you stop with Marvel and do you miss [Robert Downey Jr.?]”

“Oh my god, stop yelling at me!” she jokingly responded. “We just stopped doing it because Iron Man died. And, why do you need Pepper Potts without Iron Man? I don’t know. Call up Marvel and yell at them, not me. I’m just sitting here.”

Paltrow does raise a good point: Does the MCU really need Pepper without Stark, especially with Riri Williams/Ironheart in line to take up the mantle of the next Armored Avenger?

Despite Paltrow's comments indicating that she really is done with the character, rumors persist that there are future plans for Pepper/Rescue in the MCU, so we'll just have to wait and see how things pan out.

What do you think? Any interest in seeing Paltrow back as Pepper Potts in some capacity? Drop us a comment down below.

She was great in the early movies not so much in the later ones to me. Might be fine if she shows up as a cameo.

She will probably be back when they want to have yet another forced cringey scene where all the female superheroes are posing together looking tougher than ever.
