If you are planning on heading to the IMAX midnight showing of John Carter you will not be returning home empty handed. The Hero Complex has given us a look at the Mondo poster that Disney will be handing out at the midnight showing of the Andrew Stanton epic. The offer only stands while supplies last so if you wish to try and get one make sure you get there early. Check the poster out below that gives us a good look at the grand scale of Mars.

From Academy Award(R)-winning filmmaker Andrew Stanton comes "John Carter"--a sweeping action-adventure set on the mysterious and exotic planet of Barsoom (Mars). "John Carter" is based on a classic novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, whose highly imaginative adventures served as inspiration for many filmmakers, both past and present. The film tells the story of war-weary, former military captain John Carter (Taylor Kitsch), who is inexplicably transported to Mars where he becomes reluctantly embroiled in a conflict of epic proportions amongst the inhabitants of the planet, including Tars Tarkas (Willem Dafoe) and the captivating Princess Dejah Thoris (Lynn Collins). In a world on the brink of collapse, Carter rediscovers his humanity when he realizes that the survival of Barsoom and its people rests in his hands.

John Carter stars Taylor Kitsch, Lynn Collins, Samantha Morton, Mark Strong, Ciaran Hinds, Dominic West, James Purefoy, Daryl Sabara, Polly Walker, Bryan Cranston, Thomas Hayden Church, Willem Dafoe, and will be released on March 9, 2012.

Looks really dull and colorless compared to the paintings and stuff. So much brown. I don't get a sense of wonder from this that I should.

What colour is Mars in the books then? It's reddish brown in real life.

Oh, and one thing I noticed from the first trailer; when John Carter wakes up on Mars, the moss/grass is yellow-ish green just like it was described in the books. That put a smile on my face.
