From Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Andrew Stanton, "John Carter of Mars" is a sweeping action adventure set on the mysterious and exotic planet of Barsoom (Mars). Based on the classic sci-fi novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, the film tells the story of John Carter (Taylor Kitsch), who is inexplicably transported to Mars where he becomes embroiled in a conflict of epic proportions amongst the inhabitants of the planet, including Tars Tarkas (Willem Dafoe) and the captivating Princess Dejah Thoris (Lynn Collins). In a world on the brink of collapse, Carter discovers that the survival of Barsoom and its people rests in his hands.

The new issue of Total Film Magazine is on sale now.

John Carter is set to hit theatres on March 9, 2012!

@luffy-I was thinking the same thing. If you knew you were going to be making a movie where you would have your shirt off 90% of the time...Get in the gym.

Sounds interesting, but I'm more interested in 'Simon Cowell from Venus' and 'Sarah Palin form Jupiter', but most of all 'Michael Moore from Ur-anus'.

I have no real knowledge of the character of John Mars. This film is definitely one I want to invest my time in watching and I definitely want to get the backstory on.

...there it is there....Cherry and the Cat have spoken; you don't have to be totally yoked up to get some notice...but damn you still have to be kinda handsome...gotta work on that.

It's actually a very good story; I recommend reading Burroughs' version for the full affect...BUT...if they don't get it right, it will get the "piss-poor" translation score. I'm looking forward to it...
