HARLEY QUINN Clip Pokes Fun At Toxic JUSTICE LEAGUE "Snyder Cut" And STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI Fans

The Harley Quinn animated series on DC Universe has proved to be a huge hit, but a scene poking fun at some of the toxic fans who support the Snyder Cut and hate on The Last Jedi could be controversial...

Like the Deadpool movies, DC Universe animated series Harley Quinn is very meta, but will this be a joke too far for some fans? As you can see in the clip below, today's episode kicks off with a couple of fans debating the quality of the series, but their t-shirts reveal that they're each part of groups which have been described as "toxic" by many online.

The first supports the "Snyder Cut" of Justice League, while the second clearly wasn't happy with Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Directed by Rian Johnson, that middle chapter in the Disney sequels continues to cause debate, though it's been somewhat overshadowed by The Rise of Skywalker

"Bruce Wayne awakens from his coma to find Gotham in shambles," reads the synopsis for the episode. "Meanwhile, Two-Face attempts to forge a criminal alliance with Bane, to be the only two Big Bads left in Gotham."

Is Harley Quinn running the risk of alienating some viewers with these jokes at the expense of certain fans? They would have to be terribly sensitive for that to be the case, as it is just a tongue in cheek joke. However, it's going to be interesting to see the reaction to this over the next few days...

This shows last jedi haters as what they are, not sexist assholes, but people who gave the new trilogy a fair shot and were burned out by less than mediocre storytelling, a rehash of the old trilogy and a splash of identity politics to "spice it up". They are the ones who are encouraging the other guy to watch the show.

@AndrewHolland - You DO realize that the “rehash of the OT” was in TFA, right? TLJ was the sole sequel that tried to do something different.

@SerKurtWagner - Tried is the most important word in your comment. They had the opportunity of doing something TRULY original (not cheap subversions that surprise you for a second) by making Kylo and Rey work together, but no, they had to make the Kylo and Rey dynamic be similar to Luke's and Vader's with one wanting the other to rule the galaxy with the other and the other wanting to turn them to the light side of the force. They even made the character of Luke more akin to Yoda in ESB. You aren´t correct, TFA wasn´t the only movie to rehash the OT, but the entire sequel trilogy rehashed the original trilogy. The only thing truly original that The Last Jedi did was ruining the franchise.

Such a funny show. Honestly should be on Adult Swim instead of DCU; it's leaps and bounds better than the lack-luster half-season of Rick & Morty they just put out.

@TheJustinHammer - Animation wise, I agree. I used to think so writing wise, but I feel like HQ's forged its own identity from Venture Bros after the first few episodes. Also, weren't Fox airing three shows in the Family Guy universe at the same point at one point, haha; I'd think AS could handle HQ & VB.

What does wanting the Snyder Cut released have to do with hating Harley Quinn? If anything the people who support Snyder are going to rally behind ANY DC product regardless of quality which would include Birds of Prey, Suicide Squad, and this cartoon. I think the writers are shooting themselves in the foot here.

@soberchimera - Just like people who support Feige are going to rally behind ANY Marvel product regardless of quality.

@soberchimera - I want a Snyder Cut. I have stopped watching Legends of Tomorrow and didn't make it through the last season of Young Justice.

@Battabing - Lol, some not all.
I want the Snyder Cut but I take each DCEU movie on its own.
( Liked Shazam, Aquaman, not a fan of Suicide Squad, etc)

[frick]ing ridiculous that we can't cast a redhead in any DC or Marvel movie but we can put a redhead cartoon bitching about Snyder cuts
