Guillermo del Toro States That DARK UNIVERSE Is Pushing Forward Despite Constantine Show

Guillermo del Toro has been talking about his planned Dark Universe movie for about a year now, but with the announcement that a Constantine TV series is in the works, del Toro's film has been in question.

Indeed, DC and Warner Brothers are on a tear lately, having recently set a Commissioner Gordon series in motion at FOX as well as a potential Arrow spin-off featuring the Flash on The CW.

Del Toro claims that Dark Universe (a.k.a. Justice League Dark) is still in the works despite the TV show that’s being developed for NBC.

"We talked about it at DC and Warners, and I feel confident that the two properties can exist at the same time,” he said. “I think that DC is trying to create a great universe of characters, and expand it and make it clear to the audience that it’s a landscape of characters, and not just one that’s dependent on one or two characters."

That said, Guillermo del Toro's Dark Universe doesn't seem to be moving that quickly. The filmmaker assured that they're still writing the film but there is not a full script yet. "But it’s still active," he also stated.
