JUSTICE LEAGUE Producer Charles Roven Reveals What Percentage Of The Movie Consists Of Joss Whedon's Reshoots
We've heard an awful lot about Joss Whedon's Justice League reshoots but producer Charles Roven has now weighed in on those and downplays exactly how much of the movie has changed because of them...
Ever since Zack Snyder was forced to step down from Justice League due to a family tragedy, speculation has been running rampant about just how much Joss Whedon's reshoots have changed the movie. We know he was hired to write those but after being put in charge of the post-production process, Whedon did everything from changing the composer to reportedly even ditching the ending!
However, in a new interview with The Washington Times, producer Charles Roven offered some insight into just how much Whedon altered the movie and downplayed the idea of "extensive" reshoots.
"The goal is to make sure when you’re watching the movie, it all feels cohesive," he explains. "That imprint that Joss had, some aspect of it is going to come out in the direction, but the actors are already pretty much down the road on their arcs. Let’s just say 80, 85 percent of the movie is what was originally shot. There’s only so much you can do with other 15, 20 percent of the movie."
While that sounds a lot like a guesstimate, Roven is obviously closely involved with Justice League so must know how much was really changed. The fact is, though, we'll probably never know how many alterations were made but you have to hope that Justice League might one day receive some sort of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice "Ultimate Cut" so it runs for more than just two hours or so.
