Don't Expect A New Look At JUSTICE LEAGUE During The Super Bowl, But Marvel May Have A Surprise For Us
According to a new report, Warner Bros. is once again sitting out the Super Bowl, but what about the other studios? At the very least, it sounds like we're getting a new look at one of Marvel's movies...
Over the past few years, many studios have decided to sit out of the Super Bowl. Like Comic-Con, they believe it's an unnecessary expense to promote their movies, especially when it's so easy to get people excited by releasing something online! Warner Bros. clearly feels that way anyway as Deadline reports that the won't be bringing Wonder Woman, Justice League, or anything else to the table this year.
However, the trade reports that Disney is bringing at least two with them, and name Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and the next instalment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise as the most likely possibilities! Fox meanwhile will showcase A Cure for Wellness and one other release; either Logan or Alien: Covenant. Either one of those would be cool, but the latter seems likely after Logan's final trailer.
Paramount Pictures is lining up something for Baywatch and possibly Transformers: The Last Knight and Universal has also committed to at least one TV spot (probably The Fate of The Furious). Sony has something in store for the pre-game show, but whether or not that will be Spider-Man: Homecoming remains to be seen. One of Warner Bros.' promotional partners could advertise one of their DC Comics adaptations (similar to those Turkish Airlines spots last year), but we'll just have to wait and see.
