JUSTICE LEAGUE Star Harry Lennix Wants To Shoot Snyder Cut Scene As Martian Manhunter

In a new interview, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star Harry Lennix had admitted that he's anxious to reprise the role of General Swanwick so he can film his Snyder Cut scenes as Martian Manhunter...

A little while back, Justice League director Zack Snyder revealed that, in the Snyder cut of the movie, General Swanwick was to be outed as Martian Manhunter. The reveal was set to come after a meeting between Lois Lane and Martha Kent which would have seen the latter revealed as the alien in disguise (along with confirmation that Swanwick knew Superman's secret identity).

During a recent interview the Comic Book Central podcast, actor Harry Lennix was asked about being given the opportunity to go back and shoot his unfinished scenes as Martian Manhunter, and said, "I would love to do that." He also shared his support for the Snyder Cut of Justice League, noting that, "I hope that it will be seen. I really do."

Lennix would go on to say that his Justice League role was actually cut before shooting started after it underwent a rewrite, but sounded confident that the Martian Manhunter scene would still be shot.

The actor also confirmed that he was never told about plans for Swanwick to be a superhero.

Despite the planned launch of HBO Max, we've heard nothing about plans for the Snyder Cut of Justice League to see the light of day, and with Hollywood on lockdown, it's not like it could be finished now!

Are you disappointed that we still haven't seen Martian Manhunter in the DCEU?

Give the character a movie already.

@TheUnworthyThor - I've always viewed him as a side-character tbh.

@JustALurker - That’s cool but a character to be everyone’s favorite leading man to be one of enough people’s favorites. By this point he’s had plenty of solo series and mini-series and adventures. And he’s a founding member of the Justice League for a reason. It’s not like he first debuted in The Brave and the Bold 28, he had a popular enough series running for years before that to deserve that spot and has been a mainstay ever since.

@TheUnworthyThor - This is the equivlent to asking for a vision solo movie.....

@JustALurker - Not really. Martian Manhunter has had a lot more solo comics, Vision has only had two miniseries and the Tom King comic. But a Vision movie would still be awesome. The Tom King Vision comic is amazing. The character could absolutely carry a movie. You don’t need a lot of comics for one movie. Having a long running comic with lots of supporting characters and a large rogues gallery really helps if you want to have a cartoon that runs for years (see Spider-man and Batman). But for a single movie you need one villain one story. There are only 15ish properties between DC and Marvel that have consistently had an ongoing series for decades and decades. Besides Flash they’ve all gotten a movie already. Now we are in the land of Shang-Chi, Eternals and Black Adam. I mean heck Legion had no comics at all to speak of and they made that into a kick ass TV show.

Honestly at this point because of his numerous appearance on television, both animated and live action, Martian Manhunter is more well known than most DC characters and has a head start over most any other character who doesn’t have a movie yet.

Snyder cut doesn't exist. Get over it.

As much as I love Harry Lennix, I'm glad Snyder didn't get the opportunity to ruin another great DC character.

@RageDriver2401 - Matt Reeves is redeeming Batman. I hope we get a good film-maker to save Superman too.

@tmp3 - someone needs to do for Superman what the Russo's did for Cap.

I read someone suggest Marielle Heller of A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood.

@RageDriver2401 - She'd be great. So would Paul King from Paddington, Stephen Williams from Watchmen or (hear me out) Aaron Sorkin. We already know he'd write an incredible Lex Luthor, but we'd finally get a great on-screen portrayal of Clark's journalistic side.
Just not JJ... please.
