Kevin Smith Writes A Glowing Review Of JUSTICE LEAGUE; "There Are Moments That F***ing Made My Heart Soar"

Kevin Smith is no stranger to the DC Universe and has frequently weighed in with his very honest thoughts on Warner Bros.' efforts. So, what did the prolific writer and filmmaker think of Justice League?

Justice League is now in theaters and while the response has been mixed, there are plenty of people who loved Warner Bros.' latest DC Comics adaptation. Among them is Kevin Smith, someone who teased the future of the DC Films Universe alongside Geoff Johns on a special show on The CW a while back and who is no stranger to these characters after directing shows like The Flash and Supergirl

During a recent podcast appearance, Smith revealed that he's already seen Justice League twice and that there were plenty of moments he appreciated as a fan. In fact, he seemed to love it overall!

"I saw Justice League twice already," Smith said. "I liked it. I liked it. There's stuff in it that I really dug, stuff that I was happy, I mean it's weird this is like, I'm not going to review the movie and stuff, but these are moments that f*** made my heart soar." Smith went on to praise the flashbacks in particular and [MAJOR SPOILER WARNING] highlighted one surprising cameo in particular.

"And so, they showed an alien you've never seen before, but he had a green energy and a Lantern ring. So, the idea was like f*** lanterns even back in the first age like were defenders of the galaxy and they came to earth to help. So, there is this one moment in this battle, this throwaway moment, where a f*** lantern is killed and he f*** hits the ground and all of a sudden, the ring shoots off his finger and takes off into space. Oh my god sh** like that, seeing that on the big screen after reading that in comics for so long and watching Ryan Reynolds do it once was really wonderful. So, there's moments like that that really did it for me."

There's no denying that was one of Justice League's coolest moments and it will be interesting finding out what sort of pay off that has down the line, especially of that Green Lantern Corps movie really is going to happen. What do you guys think? As always, let us know your thoughts in the usual place.

Kevin Smith is a fanboy. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Nothing whatsoever. I admire his positivity. But it doesn't take a lot to please him when it comes to this stuff. He's just happy it exists. And good for him. But JL was not my cup of tea.

Green Lantern was a nice nod yes, but the Superman fight is what made the movie for me;

@ODanil - So many things in Justice League were amazing to me, from the off to the final curtain.

It saddens me to see so many people on this site slating Kevin Smith for being a fan boy. Aren't we all?!?

@ODanil - The oddity of that fight, the creepiness of Superman unhinged, was compelling. I liked Cavill's delivery of the "Do you bleed?" line. There was a quiet insanity/brutality to it that really worked.
