Zack Snyder Will Direct JUSTICE LEAGUE 2, But It's Been Delayed To Make Room For THE BATMAN

Zack Snyder's next movie after Justice League has been revealed, and it's a lot smaller in scale than his last few projects. However, the filmmaker is still planning on directing Justice League 2!

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that once he's finished working on Justice League, Zack Snyder will finally set his sights on The Last Photograph. The thriller is a small scale production which has been in the works since the mid-2000s, but after the filmmaker found success with 300, the rights lapped. He's now looking to get them back though after getting longtime collaborator Kurt Johnstad to pen the screenplay. That will however be getting a rewrite before production actually starts late next year.

According to the trade, "Photograph centers on a war correspondent in Afghanistan who is the only one to survive an attack on a group of Americans. When a special ops soldier in search of a family member shows up, the two team up, with the correspondent hoping to score the story of his life."

The original plan was for Snyder to immediately start working on Justice League 2, but that's apparently been pushed back to make room for Ben Affleck's Batman movie. Chances are that Warner Bros. also wants to see how fans and critics respond to this first movie before giving another the go ahead, but the site notes that the filmmaker is currently still "intent" on taking the helm of the sequel.

Are you guys excited to see what Snyder does outside of the comic book genre? Sound off below.

@RancidBane - No brainer for him to do this. Go do a smaller movie then get back into JL2. Would have hoped it was MoS2 though. Then I think he should do another smaller film then do an Old Republic Revan movie

Why?

@ScarletWarlock - Because he started the shared universe. They would rather him stick around and be the Kevin Feige of the DCEU to have some sense of continuity.

Truth is they like his filmmaking style. Visually he is great. Directing dialouge and non action scenes he is awful. He rushes the pace to get to action pieces

June 2019 would be a great release date for The Batman and the 30th anniversary of the 1989 film.

@WarnerBrother - And the 80th anniversary of Batman in general. Like how MOS came out for Superman's 75th.

I actually am looking forward to something different from Snyder. I do like his style and think it can work with some heroes in DC, just not Superman. I remember an interview where he was going to do something with a twist on George Washington and the Revolutionary War.....that would be pretty cool if it came to fruition.
