Mathew Vaughans adaptation of Mark Millars "Kick Ass" has yet to find a distributor and doesnt even have a release date, but the official movie book is already available to buy! Heres the description on Amazon:

"Kick-Ass", the bestselling comic book series by Mark Millar (writer of the graphic novel "Wanted", which became a smash-hit movie) and artist John Romita Jr., is now an eagerly awaited film, and this is the essential companion book! What would happen if you tried to be a superhero? What would happen when an ordinary kid in a spandex costume comes face-to-face with the criminal underworld? Comic book fan and high school student Dave Lizewski, aka the self-styled vigilante Kick-Ass, is about to find out...and it's going to get really, really violent! With Mark Millar as your guide, "Kick-Ass: The Movie Book" gives you the lowdown on the making of the film, with eye-popping art from the original comics, script extracts and hundreds of movie photos! It is suitable for adults only.

The movie has gone into production before the comic series even finished..and it still isnt. So basically you can now buy the book about the unreleased movie which is about the unfinished comic!

I joked about the movie coming out before the series finished back around issue 3. Seems like it's going to be pretty close.

I read a couple of issues. I think its only ok. Kick Ass himself is a little prick imo! Its hard to root for a douche bag hero

I was wondering if Millar intended for this to be a movie in the first place? The comic is great, but in issue #2 or 3 they were saying there was already a movie in the works.

Michael Galusick, well Ol Tony may not be perfect but hes still ultimately likable. Kick Ass just comes across like an annoying little attention seeking brat..great writing though, Millars the man! Anyone been reading Old Man Logan? It took that story set 50 years in the future for me to finally like Hawkeye!

@Spada
I was thinking the same thing. I never read wanted...but the movie was a pretty generic action flick.

Rorschach, I haven't bought Old Man Logan, just read it while in the shop and it seems pretty tight. I have been buying Wolverine Weapon X and that's a a nice read.

i personally love the comic
and think that there is so much that can be done with the story and the characters
more so than has been done thus far
but this whole thing with the movie coming out and ruining the plot of a comic I have been reading since issue #1 is quite infuriating

the movie looks to be really good but I just wish Millar/JRJR would hurry it up
aperently the HC of the series is coming out soon that is supposed to have issues 1-8... when we are still at issue 6
the whole thing stinks of 'oh i got my movie deal now screw the comic'

I am a huge Mark Millar fan but oddly enough I have not read Kick Ass. I read the first issue of Old man logan but I have missed all of the other issues. I am looking to read kick ass before i see the movie though.

I love Kick Ass. I have kept up with the series (which doesn't come out regularly, but beggars can't be choosers.) I'll give the movie a chance, but not expecting anything specatacular. Can only hope some of the blood and gore of the comic makes the big screen.
