On The Storyline of Kick-Ass 2:

"Kick-Ass 2 follows immediately after Kick-Ass. You see how Dave has inspired people to become amateur superheroes, Red Mist has inspired people in the sequel to become amateur supervillains. So what we have is two rival gangs of super characters getting together in New York. We go straight into what’s happened with Dave and Hit-Girl as well, picking up from where they left off in the last story. Hit-Girl has now been adopted by someone who’s saying that she’s not allowed to kill people anymore, she can’t be Hit-Girl anymore. Dave is getting deeper and deeper into this very dangerous hobby that he has which is going out every night and getting into fights, dressed in a superhero costume and he’s actually formed a superhero team"

On When The Movie Will Start Production And The Problems That Come With That:

"We’re probably about nine months away from production starting, at the earliest, because Matthew Vaughn's got to do X-Men: First Class. Matthew just wants to get X-Men done next year then hopefully we’ll just go straight into Kick-Ass 2, that’s the plan."

"That’s a massive pressure because Chloe in particular is going to change physically quite dramatically over the next few years, so we have to do the sequel while everyone still looks like they’re in high school."

On The Success Of The First Movie:

"You have to remember, Kick-Ass made $100 million at the box office. Everyone was expecting it to make Avatar money, I would say people said maybe twice Iron Man money, that type of thing. But Iron Man had a budget that was like eight times our budget. They were like $300 million and we were $28 million. So they made $100 million on a $28 million movie."

The comic book looks great (love Millar's sense of humour even if he does push it a little) and the movie should also be good as long as they stick to the comic a little more this time and dont add in any more ridiculous jet pack scenes! That was so out of context, it nearly ruined the movie for me. Thankfully, it didnt, and I [frick]ing loved it!

deadpool72: Yeah, 2011 is already looking like an epic year for CBM's but 2012 is going to somehow be even better...it's a good time to be a comic book fan!

jazzman: I had to laugh when I read that as well! :D "Everyone was expecting it to make Avatar money." He really thought it would make over $1 billion? LMAO!!!

You can't trust a thing this man says.

Who was expecting this to make Avatar money?

I highly doubt Vaughn will be able to start principal photography on this movie in 9 months. Probably closer to a year at the earliest.

Glad to finally be hearing a possible date. Hoping this still happens, since Mark has been given a reputation by some of us and all. Either way I'm glad to see that they're trying to get this off the ground and quick, especially with Chloe maturing.

Is it just me or does Millar's ideas turned better when someone else get their hands on them?

I mean, Vaughn turned Kick-Ass into a great movie, more relevant and interesting than the comic. And Timur crafted a fun and kinetic popcorn movie.Nitro Muscle Mass
