It appears “Fate” is not without the age old conflict of Chaos and Order. This tale is of my own concoction, spawned by the very fabric of my imagination. These particular gentlemen and gentlewomen however “under rated” they may be, together as a single unit, might just be what the “Doctor prescribed” to spare the world of the very “Fate” which was ordained. Strap yourselves in for the journey that awaits you! Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you…
League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: Smoke and Mirrors
In the near future, after living past the expectation of his very lifetime, “Doctor Fate” (Kent V. Nelson) with his own eyes, saw perish his friends and family and came to the conclusion that he must join his loved ones and renounce to the “Helmet of Fate” which was responsible for his own preservation. Flashback: “After defeating Negal, he went into early retirement acknowledging the new Specter’s argument that the world is simply not ready for a “tenth” era of magic and used it only, in secrecy, for his own means. By retiring, Nelson showed Nabu that there was simply no reason for his own existence and that this realm was apt enough to defend itself without him. So Nabu’s very conscience left the helmet to the safe keeping of Nelson.”
After much consideration, Nelson saw it fit to leave the helmet to the most spiritual human beings of this world, the Tibetans. However knowing that no human is without flaws, and by noticing that the Government of China is forbidding people to entre Tibet, he felt it would be best to hide it in one of the secret caves in the Himalayas where no one would have access. By taking off the helmet and its amulet, the sands of time accelerated for Nelson, disintegrating his body to dust in mere seconds. Apparently, he had underestimated the thirst for enlightenment of a young Tibetan named Karma Khul. He was ordained to become a monk however, he noticed that the path to enlightenment took forever and set out on his own spiritual journey in the Himalayas to find the entrance to the mystical land of Shamballah. By investigating a cave he found to be practically inaccessible, risking his own life in the attempt, he found near the end of the cave a shiny golden helmet that seemed to have existed forever but untouched by time. In bewildered awe, he put on the helmet and much to his surprise, felt a warm surge of power run through not only his body but his very spirit merging the two together!
In the pit of his stomach he felt he needed to head South West to a land he barely knew anything of, Brazil. He surprised himself by knowing intuitively how to use the powers of the helmet. He flew out of that cave and went South West till he felt he needed not continue further. In Rio, he saw what appeared as a semi “mirror” image of him inflicting destruction upon the inhabitants. Karma rushed into battle! After defeating the culprit, he learned that this individual was the “host” of the Lord of Chaos and that just like him, his helmet was the source of his power. By removing his helmet, the host disintegrated into dust right in front of him! Thinking that the host was the corrupt being but that if someone pure like himself would put on the helmet of chaos, that he could be able to tame the power and the source into submission. Not realising that he hadn’t removed the Helmet of Fate, he proceeded to put on the helmet of chaos on top of his own helmet. Magically the two helmets fit perfectly onto one another and in a burst of pure light and a surge of power that shook the very planet, the two helmets merged together and making the host completely disappear and never to be heard from again.
One fine day, the earth appeared to start vibrating for no reason. As the earth’s heroes started to investigate, Waverider not only found out that the disruption wasn’t “tectonic” but that the whole planet was vibrating. He then started to warp through time to ultimately find out that the disruption was actually “inter-dimensional”. But the more he ventured through time to the future, the more the vibration became erratic and violent. He found the source of the disruption at it’s most violent in the year 5017 where the earth was merely formed of erupting volcanic activity all but for one elevated tectonic plate which appeared to be calmly floating through the air over the volcanic mass that became the earth. When he examined that area which seemed to be a Utopia at first glance, he found out that its inhabitants were living in servitude to a god named Karma and quickly noticed what appeared to be the “helmet of fate” but distorted in a matter he had never seen before, on the very god that they served. He also felt the energy wave coming from the earth and passing through Karma and going to the elevated land Karma had respectfully named “Shamballah”. Before going back into time in full panic, he noticed one last thing. Impaled on posts everywhere around they’re main city, were the body’s of earth’s mightiest super powered heroes from every single era imaginable. He then knew that he had already sent in heroes through time to their own deaths at the hands of the most powerful being this planet has ever known.
Going back from the timeline he came from, he then thought of a plan to outsmart Karma instead of hitting him with brute force. Realising that this god was more content of spending eternity in his Utopia, not worrying of any force he would be faced with, Waverider realised he still had a chance at gathering “experts” in the art of deception. He wasn’t too sure how this could happen however he knew who to contact to take this plan into motion. And so he went back through time and gathered the “new” League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
Aaron Eckhart as The Question: Vic Sage bearing a faceless mask is an obnoxious yet highly outspoken and aggressive investigative journalist has always been able to outwit any foe and have the ability to gather any information on anyone he wished, to better inform himslef as to know the ultimate way to emerge victorious.

Her abilities were formerly to teleport, shape-shift, become ethereal, and take souls to the "other side”. Eventually she became consumed by evil and turned to Darkseid for leadership. After Robin (her monumental crush) made her come to her senses, Darkseid stripped her of her powers leaving her an ordinary, living girl. However, when Orion (Darkseid’s son) killed his father(in countdown to final crisis), her powers to teleport, shape-shift and become “ethereal”, reverted back to her even though she now has the ability to remain in the “physical realm” as a material girl. Over the years, she became a quite strikingly beautiful young lady.
And finaly, John Cusack as Mr. Miracle: As the god of Escaping he is the master of Escapology bar none. He is also immortal, has superhuman strength, agility, stamina, coordination, immunity and reflexes. He just might be the key to defeat Karma but he will need the help of his team mates if he is to surmount this overwhelming feat!

T’is the “Shaman’s” tale!
