Phase 4 introduced a lot of new characters, including Ironheart, Eros, She-Hulk, Hercules, Clea, and Werewolf by Night. That barely scratches the surface of the new faces we spent time with, but as we look ahead to the rest of the Multiverse Saga, a lot of great heroes and villains remain on the page.
Now, we're not talking about the obvious suggestions here such as the X-Men and Fantastic Four. Reboots for both teams' franchises are in the early stages of development, and they'll soon be joined by the likes of Nova and The Sentry.
Instead, we've taken a deep dive into the comic books to bring you a list of characters we simply cannot believe are still waiting to step into the spotlight on the big and small screens. There are projects on the horizon they could fit into, but as we write this, nothing concrete is planned for any of them in live-action...and we don't get why not!

8. Speedball
There were rumblings about some sort of New Warriors project several years ago, but it never came to fruition. Marvel Studios is really missing a trick there, especially as the concept of a group of young superheroes who become reality television stars has a great deal of potential.
Robbie Baldwin is the team's leader, and he gained his kinetic energy-based powers in a laboratory accident, becoming the hero known as Speedball.
With a visually unique set of powers, Robbie has been the source of many laughs, but also went down a dark path after his team played a role in the Stamford tragedy that resulted in hundreds dying. He'd then become Penance, and that's a story arc we'd love to see play out on screen.
7. Beta Ray Bill
Outside of Jane Foster and a few other heroes, only one other being has been deemed worthy enough to wield the mighty Mjolnir for an extended period of time: Beta Ray Bill.
An alien who came into possession of Thor's hammer after the two did battle, Odin later gave Bill the opportunity to battle his son in an effort to find out which of them most deserved the weapon. In a surprise twist, Bill bested Thor, but later realised he couldn't take Mjolnir from him. Instead, he wielded the newly created Stormbreaker.
The MCU's Thor has regained Mjolnir, so a future movie seems like a good time to have another hero wield Stormbreaker, and we can't think of a better candidate than Bill. It's about damn time he shows up, anyway.
6. Captain Britain
Some of you will be quick to dismiss Captain Britain as a Captain America knockoff, but their respective names are where the similarities end. With a backstory rooted in British mythology and significant links to the Marvel Multiverse, Brian Braddock could be a game-changer in the MCU.
Whether it's as the leader of the Captain Britain Corps, his zany Alan Moore adventures, or the fact he's fought for his country as part of MI6, there are countless storytelling possibilities, and this is a debut that's now long overdue.
Marvel Studios has set quite a few of its movies in the UK, all without dropping so much as a hint about Captain Britain's existence. That could change in Secret Invasion, though we'd hope any sort of mention will set the stage for this hero to be a major player moving forward.
5. Blue Marvel
The MCU boasts a lot of brilliant minds, and will soon add Reed Richards to that list. However, if anyone can give Mister Fantastic a run for his money as one of this world's best and brightest, it's Adam Brashear, a.k.a. Blue Marvel.
He has a fascinating backstory as the hero gained his powers in the 1960s during an anti-matter experiment with the Negative Zone. From there, he'd become a superhero, only for America's ongoing racial tensions to force Adam to listen to his government and continue his work from the shadows.
Eventually, Blue Marvel would step out of those and become a publicly known, albeit slightly older, superhero. He'd make a great supporting character in any number of upcoming movies and TV shows.
4. Black Cat
We'd argue that Marvel Studios has saved Spider-Man, with the web-slinger's MCU adventures leaps and bounds ahead of both The Amazing Spider-Man movies and what we've seen in the likes of Venom and, ugh, Morbius.
While Sony Pictures once had plans for Black Cat to team up with Silver Sable in yet another Spider-Man-less Marvel movie, we're relieved it didn't happen. Why? Well, it increases the odds of Felicia Hardy making her MCU debut, giving Peter Parker one of his greatest allies and most exciting love interests.
After losing MJ, now seems the perfect time to have Spidey tempted into breaking bad (at least a little) alongside Black Cat. The Spider-Man video game, meanwhile, emphasised what a compelling presence Felicia could be on screen.
3. Red Hulk
Yes, yes, we know what you're thinking: "Harrison Ford is playing this guy in Captain America: New World Order!" Well, while that makes for a neat theory, it's little more than that right now.
The legendary Indiana Jones and Star Wars actor has been enlisted to play General "Thunderbolt" Ross, but we've seen no indication that Marvel Studios plans to have Ford "Hulk Out." He's also yet to be confirmed for Thunderbolts, so tempering expectations would be wise.
If, however, Kevin Feige and company have any sense at all, they'll take this opportunity to have the MCU's rumoured new President become the Red Hulk. There's a chance he won't ever cross paths with The Hulk, which would be a shame, but we'll take what we can get.
2. Abigail Brand
When WandaVision introduced S.W.O.R.D., it seems fair to say all our ears immediately perked up. Oddly, the organisation just feels like another S.H.I.E.L.D. and hasn't really been showcased since that Disney+ series.
That could change in upcoming MCU projects such as Secret Invasion and The Marvels, but there's still no indication that Abigail Brand will be making her presence felt. Dedicated to defending the Earth against extraterrestrial threats, she was introduced as S.W.O.R.D.'s Director and is most frequently associated with the X-Men.
For a time, rumours swirled that Emilia Clarke or Olivia Colman might be playing the hero, but that no longer seems to be the case. It's possible Abigail is being saved for the X-Men reboot if that's headed down the cosmic route, but we're fed up with her being on the sidelines.
1. Gwen Stacy
As a new take on Mary Jane Watson, we have nothing bad to say about Zendaya's MJ. However, she no longer remembers Peter Parker, meaning the door is open to us finally seeing the wall-crawler's first true love in the MCU: Gwen Stacy.
She would be a great choice of character to help Spidey move on from the traumatic events of Spider-Man: No Way Home and someone he could obviously cross paths with in college. We honestly wouldn't be against doing something drastically different with Gwen, potentially combining her with Felicia Hardy to make a new character akin to "MJ."
Another option would be to take her down the Spider-Gwen route, skipping beyond her tragic death and allowing Gwen to be a hero on screen in her own right.
