The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 is being planned to start filming in 2020. ALl the original cast are expected to come back. James Gunn is also returning as the director, James Gunn is also directing The Suicide Squad for Warner Bros. There was some controversy with James Gunn about old tweets he put out and it was announced that James is nolonger directing Guradians of the Galaxy Vol 3
It was debatable if this movie would even happen anymore with Dave Bautista calling out Disney over the decision. It seemed they wasn't able to get a new director. for the movie. Then it was announced that James Gunn is coming back to direct the movie and people were very excited
After Avengers Endgame's success it would make sense that they would want to start filming as soon as possible on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3.
