RUMOR: Sony Reportedly Has Offered A New Deal To Disney Including Spider-Man And Venom

It's been a wild month or so since we all found out Tom Holland's Spider-Man has left the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, there's a glimmer of hope that maybe the web-head truly stays home with Marvel.

Hard to believe that Spidey was part of the MCU for five straight, successful years. Although, like the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. Sony and Disney couldn't reach an agreement to make a new deal, so that leaves Spider-Man back where he started off; all by himself.

Now, there's a rumor saying that Sony has given Disney a call to settle on a new deal, and this is what We Got This Covered had to say about it...

According to our trusted sources – the same ones who told us Marvel was developing a She-Hulk and Ms. Marvel show well before they were officially announced – the two parties are still talking and the current deal on the table is apparently for Disney to get 30% of Spider-Man. However, the agreement does ask that Venom be part of the MCU. At the moment, however, it’s unclear if the Mouse House is willing to accept the terms.

Take this with a grain of salt, but it's difficult not to get somewhat excited over the prospect of this. It was always expected that Sony and Disney would continue to negotiate until they could finally agree on something. At the end of the day, Spider-Man in the MCU is beneficial for both parties. So hopefully this rumor turns out to be true.

With the box office Venom dragged in, one would think Disney would eventually grow to like the idea of the symbiote in their universe. If it means getting Spider-Man back, then it seems like a no-brainer. However, there's no telling when or if this will occur. So it's a waiting game at this point.

Do you think Spidey will ultimately come back home, or stay in his own space with Venom? Leave your thoughts down below.

Venom being part of the MCU is actually a cherry on top, not some bitter aftertaste. Just make Venom 2 better.

If true, it is a little unclear if they want the current version of Venom in the MCU, which, I suspect, Disney would say no:

If could reboot, start him as the villain then become the hero with Brock... then potentially?

However, not sold on this rumour... although could make sense from a business perspective, you give more away with Spider-Man, but gain wayyy more possibly with Venom.

Now the question is: if true what happens to the other Sony Spider-Man movies?

This is from WeGotThisCovered. Like Umberto Gonzales (Heroic Hollywood), it's not to be taken seriously.

This whole thing just proves what a failure Marvel is. People say Marvel is awesome and give them credit for the MCU success when it's Disney that has done everything.

If Marvel was so great Disney wouldn't own them and their character properties wouldn't be scattered around like this.

People blame Sony for this, except if Marvel knew what they were doing from the start, Sony wouldn't even be in picture right now.

If Venom was to join the MCU they would need to slightly his story to tie in his hatred of Spidey.

Perhaps Venom could become bored of Eddie and start to take notice of Spidey and want to bond with him. Venom could bond with Spidey to help him take down an enemy and that could fuel Eddie's hatred / jealousy of Spidey. Once Spidey realises that the symbiote wants to bond permanently he rejects him so then Venom shares Eddie's hatred of Spidey so they re-bond to take him on... maybe???
