First Of DC Direct's DCnU Figures To Be Released In May Starting With Batman

DC Direct teased the new line of figures for DCnU at last years New York Comic Con, and now they have announced that their first figure, Batman, will be released this May.

Batman will kick off the first line of DC Direct figures from the DCnU that will be released this year. At last years New York Comic Con the prototypes of the figures were on display and now, thanks to a heads up by Comic Alliance, you can add the new redesigned Batman to your collection on May 2nd. The figure will stand 6.75" tall and it is unclear at the moment whether or not it will come with accessories.

As you can see there is a silhouette of the other Justice League member, minus Cyborg, behind Batman. So this probably mean we can expect the full line around the same time as the Batman figure. Matell is also handling a line of action figures for DCnU that is slated for a 2012 release as well, but no word on when exactly.

That's actually a pretty cool figure sculpting wise. But I really hate that articulation around the hips. It's [frick]ing awful.

I will take a good sculpt over "articulation" any day. I'm not actually flying my toys around the house like you. I just display them if they are well made.

Looks great, nice sculpting foremost (never expect for any DC figure to have that much articulation); though I'll wait for the Green Lantern figure to be revealed. Hopefully it's as good...if not better. :)
