MAD MEN Star Elizabeth Moss In Early Talks To Join INVISIBLE MAN; Johnny Depp Will Not Be Involved
Universal's Invisible Man remake, which has Leigh Whannell set to direct, has possibly found its leading lady in 2x Golden Globe-winner Elizabeth Moss. Plus, it appears Johnny Depp will not be involved.
Variety is reporting that 2x Golden Globe-winner and Primetime Emmy Award-winning actress Elizabeth Moss (Mad Men; The Handmaid's Tale; Us) is currently in extremely early talks to join Universal's Invisible Man remake, which already has Leigh Whannell (Upgrade) attached to write and direct.
Additionally, their report confirms that 3x Academy Award-nominee Johnny Depp (Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald), who was slated to star as the title character, will no longer be involved in any capacity as the studio segues away from the shared Dark Universe and attempts to relaunch a number of their classic titles for modern-day audiences.
Plot details are being kept under wraps as are details on her role, so it's uncertain whether she'll take on the role of Flora Cranley, Dr. Jack Griffin's fiance in the original film, or if she'll tackle an original role created for the new film.
