A few weeks ago, The Grey director Joe Carnahan put an end to the rumours that 20th Century Fox had decided to scrap plans for an adaptation of Mark Millar and Steve McNiven's Nemesis. At the same time, he also expressed an interest in casting Liam Neeson in the role of Blake Morrow, the Chief Inspector who Nemesis sets his sights on. Talking to MTV Splash Page recently, he once again discussed his desire to work on the movie and Neeson himself reacted to the chances of playing the character in the upcoming comic book movie.
"Mark and I had a discussion, because Tony Scott was going to direct it, and I don’t know if he’s still interested, but it was always a project that I was interested in doing," Carnahan told the site at a recent press junket for
The Grey.
"And Liam doesn’t know it, but there’s the Blake Morrow character, if you see him in the comic, it looks like Liam. And I don’t know if they drew that intentionally or whatever but..."
"Is there a little part?" Neeson responded, to which the director added:
"But I think what Liam would be interested in is, essentially that the story is the anti-Batman/ It’s a billionaire who’s, instead of being benevolent and kind, is cruel and unusual. It’s long in coming but it’s certainly something I’d be interested in adapting. You know, it’s a giant tentpole movie, which I know you don't like to do."
