24 Coming Back To TV; Kiefer Sutherland In Talks To Return As Jack Bauer

Well, we may never get that movie, but the cancellation of Touch means that 20th Century Fox have decided to move ahead with a 24 limited series which will bring back Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer. Hit the jump for details!

As you guys will know by now, I'm a huge fan of 24. Ever since the show ended on an extremely unsatisfying note, I - along with many other fans - have been impatiently waiting for a movie which has been promised and delayed numerous times. Well, Deadline now reports that that Fox are planning to bring it back to the small screen as a limited series. Kiefer Sutherland is said to be in "early talks" to return, while they add that "the idea is to start from scratch with a new story arc that will likely be supervised by former 24 showrunner Howard Gordon.". They're all the details we have for now, but here's hoping that this isn't yet another false alarm for fans desperate to once again hear that iconic clock ticking down. Really not a "Republican" show by any means. That's ridiculous. Anyone who's actually seen enough of the show would tell you that. Besides, half of the villains end up being rich white guys, so stop trying to play the racism card.

This show glorified torture, portrayed liberals as weaklings, & played off post-9/11 fear and anti-Islamic hysteria. Remember the Muslim family being depicted as the next sleeper cell? There's a reason Rush Limbaugh is such a fan of this show.

Look, I didn't want to be that guy being political, but, @kevberg, your politics litterally make me sick. If you want to get the last word to feel like a big man and to compensate for an undoubtedly small anatomy, go right ahead. I'm done with this. Let's get back to comic book movies.

Damn good news but I won't hold my breath.

All the idiots calling the show rascist obviously never watched it. As stated by others, several of the bad guys were white guys. Also, Jack had to protect a muslim head of state from assassination. He also had to kill his partner to protect a former muslim terrorist who was helping them.

I do not really see 24 as being that racist at all,in fact, they will often play on this misconception by setting it up so that you think it is the Muslim dude but ends up being the white Christian guy.

Remember the bio-terror one on in season 3 and they think it is that Muslim dude marrying the rich white girl? The sister is obsessed with this. In convinced it is the Muslim guy.

The storyline there was the evil Republican dick Cheney types who want the President out because he is too liberal...

Jack's closes relationship in the show, other than his daughter, was probably with David

Black Liberal democrat President for the first 3 or 4 seasons...
