"There’s something about robots that people connect to. I knew as soon as I left the theater after watching Star Wars that I would someday have my own R2-D2, (which I now do!) So I decided to ask the followers of my Facebook Page to tell me their favorite robot, and I got a huge response. Below are some of the favorites, and the approximate time that they made their first appearance. I included cyborgs (robotically modified humans) as well as some real robots that were mentioned. Thanks to all that posted! Click the image or links for a larger view. What’s your favorite robot? Did I miss any?"

Right off the bat, I'd say Bishop from Aliens! But I guess you can't fit 'em all in. Any other famous robots or cyborgs you think should be a part of this? For a larger look click the link below.

A robot is an autonomous, non-biological (i.e artificial) entity, and it's form has no bearing on its designation as a robot.
An android is a humanoid robot. A cyborg is an entity that combines artificial and biological components.

I find their lack of MechaGodzilla...disturbing.

The size that they've selected for everything here is very random.

Yerp, this guide is cool but missing A LOT! According to this guide nothing came out in the 90's basically. Serious Q: Why is DOFP in 2006? Comic was in the 80's, cartoon in the 90's, and the movie just came out.

This is pretty cool! The only thing is, this guide loses points for using the 2014 version of Robocop over the original.

Daleks are less "cyborg" than Iron Man. They're just squiddy-looking one-eyed gooey creatures inside battle tanks that can fly and do just about everything.

CYBERMEN are totally cybernetic. Who else?
The Autons. The Teselecta. The Tardis itself.

Ash, Bishop, Call, David... all the same Alien universe.

Ultron, Awesome Andy, Ultimo, Dragon Man....
