BATGIRL: SPOILED Episode 1 -"Blindside" Now Online

You can see the very first 12 minute episode of the new web series based on Bryan Q. Miller's popular comic run right here. A lot of fans were a little underwhelmed by the trailers, but will a full ep win them over?..

Yeah the acting could do with a lil work but the camera work was good and the lighting and stunt scenes were impressive as fan films/series go. I enjoyed it as it was fun. Hope I get to see more and thought the costumes were good. Would rather Barbra had red hair and oracle was less cheese.

@ Thelastdalek, no it's never a good argument. Just because it's fan made that means we have to like it? What sense does that make? Maybe, I dunno, they take the criticism and fix their problems. No, you're right, we should pat everyone that does anything on the shoulder and tell them they're special and put their work on the fridge with the other paper plate macaroni faces.

I agree it is a fan-made, lol. It wasn't Nolans 4th Bat film, lmao. Give them E for effort. What I hope is improvement as it continues. Like I said before, if you can do better....than why haven't you

Batgirl episode 1 was better than the trailer. I thought it was pretty good. Poor acting at times, but good.

criticism is great but I also say, knowing it's fan-made don't expect to be blown away with the greatest acting or etc in the world. Let's see if they improve, hopefully it does one show at a time

Thelastdalek@ If someone wants to produce a web series and put it out there for the world to see, then they best put their big boy and girl pants on and be ready for the critiques and criticisms that come along with it. You don't put together a web series like this without having some type of aspiration or belief that you have talent in producing something like this. If you can't deliver than it is on you. Fan film or not. I thought Mortal Kombat was a fairly well-done project for being a web series. This...not so much so.

I enjoyed it for what it was, over all I'll watch the web series, it was on par production wise to the early Bat in the Sun flicks. This thing can only get better as they get more experience.

There's a ton of fan films out there. I don't think only one should get the spotlight on here. I may agree with the majority of the vote on the quality of these episodes, but I can't knock them for trying. They've gotten quite far, in fact. But there still should be more spotlight on other projects.

A Comic Book website not paying full homage to the fans man enough to create an adaptation of what we thrive on? Doesn't make much sense to me. I say you [editors] dig and find other levels of quality, and keep this series flowing. Just add more. Please the masses on geeks who want to see faithful adaptations. Don't just show one or two for political favors.

Okay, for a fan-made video, it wasn't bad. I actually kinda liked it. Guess we'll see.

Batgirls acting wasn't terrible. What was terrible was the fight choreography. That action was completely ridiculous. Her banter was kinda witty...sometimes. I've seen worse fan films...but i've seen WAY better ones too.

"Let's see you do better" is a flawed defense. That isn't how a producer consumer relationship works.

I'll give them some leeway with the special effects and choreography since this doesn't have a blockbuster budget and its free fan content, and the costumes were pretty good.

But there is a fine line between charmingly cocky and obnoxious twat. Batgirl was walking on the wrong side...

not to bad, considering its fan-made! You cant expect much more.

Overall it wasn't too bad. I think having Batgirl take things a little more seriously would add a little gravitas to her, and some quick editing in the fight sequences would really add some pace. When she smashed the car thief's face through a window, it was quite obvious she hadn't had fight training. Hide the flaws, accentuate the positives.

Other than that, I quite enjoyed it and look forward to the next one.

Although I ask, and I ask this of all fan film makers: Please stop using the threat of rape as a plot device. It's getting a little tired now and completely undermines the characters.

Anybody else notice the really old desktop with the lamp on it in Oracle's room? What do you think that gets used for? I've seen far worse fan made material. This isnt great but I now think a live action Batgirl show would be worth watching. Kudos to the film makers.

The idea of a Bat Girl is indeed awful in comics and all live incarnations were terrible.

This short series has everything-plus-more of "what you can't do when adapting a comic book character".

So lame that makes me ashamed!!!
