Could we finally see The Micronauts on the big screen?

Just saw this browsing through IGN.com and got a little stoked. Hopefully someone else out there enjoyed the Marvel Comics and the toys I much as I did growing up! Its my first time at a fansite so, here we go...

He's ventured into the final frontier, but now J.J. Abrams is poised to enter the Microverse. The Wall Street Journal reports that the man who successfully rebooted Star Trek is "in discussions to produce a movie about Japanese toy line Micronauts, which Hasbro just acquired."

In addition to the toys, Marvel Comics, Image Comics, and Devil's Due Publishing have all published Micronauts comic book series over the past 30 years. The Marvel title lasted the longest, running from 1979-84. Fans looking forward to the Micronauts movie should bear in mind that some popular characters and terms (such as Microverse) are Marvel creations and, thus, can't be used in a non-Marvel movie.
