After months of waking up every morning and looking for news about when Mat Smith's first adventure would air I have found success! The wait is over!

...well almost. As revealed in the newest trailer for season 5 Mat Smith's first adventure "The Eleventh Hour" will air on the BBC this coming Easter, April 4th!

Details about what the first episode will be about are sketchy, but what is known is that the episode "The Eleventh Hour" will feature a newly minted Doctor and that the events of the episode take place directly after his explosive regeneration and deals with the damages incurred upon the TARDIS by it.

Here's hoping it's great!

Great find thwhtGuardian! :) I'm still not sold on Smith as The Doctor but I hope that now Russel T. Davies is gone we'll have less gay innuendos - it doesnt bother me all that much but it's always felt a little inappropriate in a show that is watched by a lot of kids!

I think most of that stuff goes right over the heads of most kids, it's really the adults that seem to be bothered by it.

Out side of bad teen movies of the late 80's and early 90's I have never heard someone use the term "wack" in normal conversation.

I certainly hope so.

I wish I lived in the UK, apparently that trailer has a 3D version that they're screening with movies over there. I'd love to see that.

Guardian - Congrats, you beat me to it (by about 4 days LOL - my computer was down)! I didn't see your article when I posted mine. I thought some 'Star Trek' fan had gotten bent out of shape at my 'greatest science fiction show in the world' comment and deleted it, so I went running to Jim. He explained that you beat me to the punch.

I'm still a bit concerned about that snippet I saw on the sylvestermccoy site that says the upcomming Christmas special has the good Doctor chatching a cold and turing into a woman! I knew that during the end of the classic series, there was speculation that because the Doctor was alien 'he' could always regenerate into a 'she', but I never thought Moffat would actually 'pull the trigger'. Still, it IS a 'RUMOR' page, so I guess we'll have to wait and see. At least we have the Silurians to look forward to!

Yeah, I'm pumped about the Silurians. As for the rumor, let come what may. I have faith in Moffat, so much so that I'm willing to bet that even if the rumor came true that the episode would be awesome because Moffat's writing is just that good!

I can't wait for Easter.

I'm surpirsed that it took only 20 YEARS to bring them back! Granted, they're no Daleks or Cybermen, but there is a certain 'Creature from the Black Lagoon' charm about them and their cousins the Sea Devils that can't be denied (I'd love to see them back too!)

Yeah, I feel with the Silurians making a comeback that the sea devils can't be far behind.

As Peter Davison's Doctor was always so fond of saying, "Hope's spring is eternal..." I can't wait to see the re-designed TARDIS console room!
