Hello Everyone,

We all know that a casting choice can change the tone of the entire film or it can often fall back on the script. It is something that effects the actual character of who they are going to play. It is something that not only effects the actor but everyone who knows the character in well portrayal. Robert Downey Jr has proven successful as Tony Stark towards everyone. Many recent choices have been now have been controversial, from Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man to Jamie Foxx as Electro. Yet also Hugh Jackman as Wolverine as many fans are still bickering about the "height problem". That is why I often say give them a chance and they have done really well. Many of them as such like Andrew Garfield has proven to be a great actor in a troubled script of The Amazing Spider-Man. They have managed to pull through excellently despite a rough start. One think I also mentioned was Jamie Foxx as Electro, changing the skin color of the actual comic book character causes a rage among many people. Idris Elba has proved himself as Heimdall. We have many of those actors starting to make that transition towards comic book films. I would just say if they role does not effect the character greatly or the story too much it would be a nice addition to see a change. You know where this is leading to already. Michael B.Jordan cast as Johnny Storm / The Human Torch in The Fantastic Four reboot. This has gone on too far. The Fantastic Four has been the pinnacle team of Marvel comics. Casting another race is just an example how they want to attract a new group of people. Everyone loves The Fantastic Four for who they are. Just because the comic was established back in harsh times where this hasn't been always present doesn't mean it needs to be in present times. This in terms is a studios own blatant incompetence for the impact The Fantastic Four has already had towards the general audience and fans. Hey why don't I write my own version of Fantastic Four while I am here.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

The Fantastic Four consist of four highly mutated individuals. They were born mutants at birth with very special abilities. Grown up together as best friends. They haven't realized the full potential of their own powers yet or what they are capable of. Until one faithful trip chooses their faiths. Reed Richards is testing a new genetic formula and relies on his childhood friends to help him. Both Johnny Storm, Sue Storm, and his other close friend Ben Grimm. Reed Richards with the help of his close lab partner Victor Von Doom who shares affectionate feelings for Reed Richards in the lab and beneath the sheets. Richards unveils his new genetic gun calling it the next step in human evolution. With Doom looking over the experiment, Richards decides to test himself too. They strap themselves to chairs and are put to sleep. They wake up from the sudden procedure in a hospital. Only one of them wakes up, Reed Richards who soon finds out all his friends are dead. So he meets up with Victor Von Doom and they decide to plan a wedding.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

This just sums it up plain and clearly. Fantastic Four? More like Fantastic Farce now. The direct relation between the characters have been the major consistency and this is just directly taking away from everything Johnny Storm and Sue Storm not being related. It is just taking away their direct relationship as wonderfully portrayed in the comics and turning it into a product of media today. Studios shouldn't do this nor the director, this is just incompetent...

And now for my real opinions...

.....That is what everyone would say, which is why I say give him a chance as The Human Torch. Give him a chance. If he is a good actor just him a chance to play one of the greatest roles in Marvel character history. I don't see anything wrong with it myself. I believe Josh Trank can turn this whole film into a work of art. It would be a different Marvel film which I also truly support a new choice. This editorial was everyone's own opinion on the subject, I frankly myself approve of this casting choice and I can not wait to see what they have in store next for us.

Even though I have nothing against this, we are not just talking about the actual performance here. We are talking about the actual character himself. Not only that he has been established in 2 recent movies, no one is going to let this go by. This is something major happening here. Bigger than the Perry White change, mainly being Perry White has been a minor character. This is one of the main up front runners of the team that the general audience already has a good view of who he is. The character has already been established.

Great article!

I'm actually anticipating this film, unlike others. Michael B. Jordan would be a fantastic Human Torch! I'm excited to see how that plays out, assuming that he might be adopted.

nice curve ball at the end! i was ready to tear this article to pieces. i support this new choice too! he's got an indie coming out that's going to blow everyone's minds. Jordan is a great actor. give him a shot is exactly what i say too. as long as the attitude is there...

there are lots of white comic characters that i wouldn't mind a black actor playing (im white if that matters to anyone) - Ms Marvel, Hank Pym, Ben Grimm, Cyclops, Human Torch (now), Hawkeye, Daredevil, Punisher, Nova, Adam Warlock, Wonder Man, Gambit hell at this point we've had so many perfect white actors play the role i wouldn't even mind a black bruce wayne. pretty much anyone except Superman, Spider-Man, Cap and Iron Man. also anyone that doesn't really make sense in the context of history. i don't think i'd be ok with a black guy playing red skull or baron zemo. by extension of that i wouldn't want a white black panther (D-DUH!!) or luke cage.

at the end of the day there's less than 10 total characters where their race actually matters. i mean like really-in the grand scheme of the world-kids are dying in third world countries-matters.

if they cast a black actor as the human torch i won't be seeing this movie in a theatre,it'll be download only.

& this isn't being racist,i would do the same if they cast a white actor in the role of bishop, black panther, cloak, falcon, spawn & so on.

all studios should stick close to the source material as possible.

You know how everyone threw a fit when Idris Elba got cast as Heimdal?

Look how that turned out.

Let's face it, women love men of color anyway. This is probably Marvel's way of getting women to watch their films. They already accomplished that with the Avengers, but why not go a bit further?

@ maryboo

heimdall is lady sif's brother, but he wasn't referred to as her brother.

with heimdall as well he wasn't a major character,so i think that was more excepted.

I'm way past the point of caring. If the movies good, I don't care. It's fun to which whiny fanboys bitch though.

Spider-man should have been black though, at least it would have made the new movies different.

I appreciate the sentiment in this opine, but it has a conflicting message. One moment you've called it a farce, with some side ramble about Doom and Reed as gay lovers? (we didn't need this, btw) And the mext moment you are saying give it a chance.

I liked Chronicle. I like this actor. And with the exception of Kingpin, this is the biggest race change in a comic book movie so far. I wonder if you've considered the scope a casting decision like this makes. Will his sister be white? That could be kinda weird. People still are awkward about things like this in real life. Or will they change Sue black too? What effect does that have on the love angle with Reed? In a perfect world it wouldn't matter.
But this is not a perfect world, and decisions like this could alienate many viewers

Was wondering why the setup of this article read like the writer was forced to type it at gunpoint.

Comic Book Companies: Create new major characters; make some character deaths permanent. If the new characters are good, they'll sell and the films can develop from there. I understand it's not that simple, but as we all know, anything great in life, is not.

"i mean like really-in the grand scheme of the world-kids are dying in third world countries-matters."

:-D

Yeah.., people are starving in other countries and death is occurring daily.., and you're using that miserable reality to downplay the quality of one of the greatest things we have left right now. You could use that same mode of thinking with the National debt: "..you're worried about illegal aliens and gay marriage when we're trillions of dollars in debt?!!!" See how that works?

It's like going to see 42, not liking the film and saying something like this, "Why were all those white ballplaya's mean to ol' Jackie Robinson.., that kinda' thing never went on.' 'It would have been a great movie if it weren't for all those inaccurate white playa's hatin' on ol' Jackie.' 'I'm gonna' make my own 42, but all the white ballplayers will welcome ol' Jackie on his journey in this film version."

Your own personal interests have blinded you from seeing what the best output for everyone* is. Hell, people love to bash the mediocre at best GL, but it was pretty faithful. If that's what they're going for.., Fox will get their budget back, but...

..but at the end of the day, it's all about political winks and money making.., in this age, it comes off like a slap in the face, right? No fan service. Fvck Fox, right?

"..I know, right?"

So know one was thinking how horribly cast Sue Storm was in 2005 and how awkward her and Chris came off as brother and sister.., especially post boner?

*everyone- Core fans, fans, families that raise their children proper, mouth breathing street sheep, etc. A film can suffice almost all and not pander.., it's tough, but can be done.
