Oh no, Halle! Say it isn't so! As the first day of filming has commenced in Vancouver, British Columbia, AOL-Time Warner, owner of Warner Brothers Studios, decided to release to its corporate entity, Time Magazine, the first picture of Halle dressed as Catwoman. And as you can see, the costume is awful.

I say this as a die-hard fan of Halle...i'm stunned! Who would've thought it was possible to make Halle look trashy? But somehow Warner Brothers has done it. And in doing so, has given ammunition to critics of this project who claim that without the film being set in Gotham and without Michelle Pfeiffer, it should not be made.

Although parts of the costume have potential (the shredded pants are interesting, even though that trend became passe in 1989), the cowl or mask just has to go!

Warner Brothers released the following statement in conjunction with the commencement of first days filming:

"Catwoman" is a feature film based on characters created by DC Comics. In this new adventure Patience Price, a mild mannered graphic artist, is murdered in order to keep her silent about an accidental discovery she made. An ancient myth is played out, when an Egyptian Mao cat, indebted to Patience for saving her it's own life, breathes life back into the young woman. Patience is reborn with an independent attitude, carefree behavior and the heightened senses of a cat. Now she must investigate the circumstances behind her murder and learn to accept both parts of herself."

At least the plot sounds interesting. Halle Berry, Sharon Stone, Benjamin Bratt and Frances McDormand star!
