According to Variety, Jude Law will be re-teaming with director Guy Ritchie (Sherlock Holmes, RocknRolla) for the upcoming King Arthur film, Knights of the Round Table. Law will square off with Charlie Hunnam's Arthur as the currently unnamed villain.

The new Warner Bros. franchise is expected to span six films. It is unclear if Law will reprise his role in later installments. Casting is underway for other parts, including Arthur's mentor, which has been previously linked to Idris Elba.

Knights of the Roundtable is set for release on July 22, 2016. The film will be directed by Guy Ritchie and written by Joby Harold. It stars Charlie Hunnam, Astrid Berges-Frisbey and Jude Law.

Are you excited for this new franchise? Wish Ritchie, Law and Robert Downey Jr. would come back for a Sherlock Holmes 3 instead?

They are planning a six picture universe for this?

Um...yeah. I can't see more than a couple before it gets stale. Arthurian legend being what it is, fantastic as Hell, still doesn't have enough mythos in it to leg out six flicks.

I think WB is still reeling from the loss of the HP franchise and will tentpole the absurd at this point. If they're expecting a billion-dollar-a-movie franchise outta this, they need to fire the dumb quack that proposed such stupidity.

I really hope Charlie Hunnam isn't playing King Arthur - Sure he's blonde and is the right age but c'mon, Ritchie should want to get a higher profile and more talented actor for the role.

Based on his looks and voice, I'd say Jude Law is playing Sir Leon...For those of you who care lol.

Six picture movie...Warner Bros. really want to reel in the money off franchises now after the Marvel scare lol.

You guys say this like Disney doesn't make franchises out of theme park attractions.
