Dylan Todd of ComicsAlliance has put together a fantastic timetable of comic book-based films, detailing the extraordinary line-up of the next six years. As the infographic notes, it's quite likely that plans and dates will change (some films may never even make it to the big screen), but this is how things are looking at this point in time. There are 40 'supermovies' listed here, including six X-Men films, eleven movies set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and over a dozen DC-based properties, many of which were announced this week. Take a look below and leave your thoughts in the usual place.

Does this go into Features? I've seen quite a few infographics in the News section before, but I'm still not sure.

It's a good time to be a comics fan!!!!

I'm still treating the Sony dates with the proverbial "grain of salt" until I hear more about their movie and financial plans.

You hear that wind? That's the sound of my empty wallet because I know I will see all of these movies.
Unless if a movie is "Catwoman" terrible, I'll go see it.

Here's hoping most of these are good. Except Spider-Man, because [frick] you, Sony.

Wait. How is it that Warner Bros has a good amount more than Marvel Studios in that time span, even with 3 years of nothing? Not that it matters, but damn. Are they really gonna stick to that plan? I hope so. It'd be very impressive.

bet money Marvel is gonna try and set a Captain Marvel or possibly some other female lead movie on that May 5th 2017 date. Knowing them theres no way theyre gonna let DC get a leg up on them like that lol. you know they just gotta have that thunder back

@Dingbat

Well in that time span they're releasing more, though if you count next year Marvel's releasing 10 movies from then to 2019 (and they haven't scheduled anything for 2020 yet either).

Fox with what... 6?

Sony with nothing come the end of this year.

Whether great or terrible, 2016 will indeed be the year to remember.

@DIAMONDZ

I personally doubt the current film slate for 2017 is final. Considering BvS isn't a critical failure, the character of Wonder Woman still needs to be received properly, as well as the Fantastic Four reboot. So, when placed with the fact that Sony has yet to prevent the growing disinterest within their properties, and Fox's obscure mentions of it's release date, in regards to when they will be releasing their next Wolverine solo film, the real number of CBM's we will receive come 2017 should be around 5 or 6, rather than 10.

@staypuffed

I would place it in Features, it's a fantastic infographic.

Well, they kind of have to. You don't announce your current investments to the group of people who pay the bills and keep the lights on, and then not produce. But if that's not enough to soothe your worries, then look no further than the man behind it all:

Oh you just know Marvel will announce a female solo film for May 5th, 2017. They have to. And it'll be f*cking hilarious, because that's the day the internet explodes with loyal fanboys from each side bitching at one another. I know they say they have a plan, but I think Marvel decided to add Iron Man into CA3 with a Civil War adaptation because of Batman v Superman....and I love them for it. :D

I'm looking forward to Sony's plan. Most the fun with Spidey is that hes got a awesome, awesome, awesome, rogues gallery of villians and anti heroes and side charachters. If ever there was a world set up through the eyes of all the villians, anti heroes, side kicks, as well as the Super Hero himself(in this case), then Spidey would be it..

Can't wait to see Doc Ock on the big Screen again. Also, really hope XForce gets made in the not so distant future.

Don't care about Sony's plan but i care about the rest.
