ONE WEEK

The pilot, written by Bryan Fuller and to be directed by Bryan Singer, is described as a reinvention of the 1960s sitcom about The Munsters, a family of “monsters” — vampires, werewolves and Frankenstein, and their “plain” cousin (Charity Wakefield) — that will feature striking visuals in the vein of Fuller’s ABC dramedy Pushing Daisies. O’Connell will play family patriarch, the handsome and gangly Herman Munster, a great dad and devoted husband. He is married to Lily, a vampire, with whom he has fathered a 10-year-old boy, Eddie (Mason Cook). Strong but sentimental, Herman works at a funeral home, and worries that Eddie’s transformation into a werewolf and burgeoning awareness of his family’s origins will crush the boy’s spirit.

I don't watch anything on NBC, so avoiding this shouldn't be a problem for me.

Absolute spit in the face to the old show. Fred Gwynne is rolling in his grave.

do not look like the classic Munsters. ... special effects are good, but at least they should have kept the classic look

When comes a remake of The Addams Family TV but respecting its classic?

no lucen como los Munsters clásicos. ...los efectos especiales son buenos, pero al menos debieron haber conservado el look clásico

¿cuándo llega un remake para TV de Los Locos Addams pero respetando su aspecto clásico?

Not the first time they remade the Munsters. This is like the 4th time they did it in my lifetime. But I have to say Jerry O'Connell totally is miscast as Herman.

Man, am I glad I watched that. I was thinking about giving this show a chance, and now I don't have to bother setting up my DVR only to cancel the recording because this blows. As much as I like Jerry O'Connell (and the rest of the cast members for that matter) I agree, TOTALLY MISCAST. Skipping this for sure.

Never thought I'd see anything that would make me miss that awful Munsters remake from the '80s, but this has proven me wrong about that. At least that show TRIED.

As I've said before, if this show was presented as something completely new and different with no relation to anything from the past, it probably wouldn't bother me. It's taking the names and concept of an iconic show I've loved since I was a kid, and drowning it in a cesspool of filth and degradation that is what bothers me.

Evidently I'm the only one in the universe who's willing to give this a chance, with an open mind. Oh well...
