MovieMaster's Top 10 Most Anticipated Movies For 2012

A lot of users have recently decided to compile their lists of their top CBM's of 2011, most anticipated movies of 2012 etc etc, so I decided to make my own. Hit the jump to take a look.

10. Men in Black III

If I'm honest with you, I wasn't a fan of the first trailer. I enjoyed it enough, but I'll have to see another trailer. I really want this to be good, because I've heard rumors of Sony Pictures going bankrupt if their movies this year fail. Although I do have a sneaking suspicion that this movie will be a dark horse of this year, similar to how Rise of the Planet of the Apes and X-Men: First Class suprised everybody this year.

9. Skyfall

I'd like to start off by saying that I was never a fan of James Bond. I always used to find it boring when I was growing up, although Craig's time in the role has suddenly spiked my interest in the franchise. The cast sounds brilliant (Javier Bardem and Ralph Fiennes, holy shit) and from what I know of the plot, that sounds [frick]ing epic too. The reason it's #9 is simply because of a packed year, lol.

8. Snow White and the Huntsman

I was originally a hater of this movie, truth be told. Then Chris Hemsworth was cast. I'm not fan of Kristen Stewart so I'm not really looking forward to her. But I'm really watching it for Chris and, *slicks back hair* Charlize. The trailer really impressed me and it was far superior to Mirror Mirror's trailer. Let's hope this is awesome!

7. John Carter

I was originally not going to put this on the list, because I am simply not anticipating at all. Then I re-watched the trailer multiple times and I felt like I just had to put it on the list! The effects look flawless and the movie looks epic. There seems to be a number of movies next year that could either be completely terrible or absolutely amazing, and John Carter falls into the amazing category.

6. Gravity

We know hardly anything about this movie. Which is why I can't wait. I walked into the cinema to watch Super 8 knowing [frick] all about the movie and left feeling satisfied. Hopefully I'll leave the cinema from watching this feeling the same way, and Alfonso Cuaron directing it is just such a massive bonus.

5. The Hobbit

I know most of you will be saying this in the comments section: "Hobbit #7!?!?!!?! Are you [frick]ing crazy, you have no taste in movies!", "The Hobbit deserves #1, YOU FAIL!!!!" yada yada yada. I was never a fan of The Lord of the Rings, neither the movies or the books. I just can't stand anything with the themed LotR did, and I'm talking about elves, orcs, dark lords and all that crap. The funny thing is, I love Harry Potter. The trailer left me spellbounded and I loved it, so maybe The Hobbit will make me love the original trilogy. Who knows, but I'll definately be seeing this come December 2012.

4. The Amazing Spider-Man

I can't wait for this movie. The reason it's #4 and not higher is because I have movies that I'm stoked for ahead of this. People are hating this movie, but there are more elements to this that are better than Raimi's trilogy. Such as, sticking to the comics, homemade web-shooters, The Lizard looking like Ditko's vision and the movie looks darker and we've heard that, Spidey will actully crack a joke in this movie!

3. Prometheus

Ridley Scott is directing his first sci-fi movie since Blade Runner. What's not to get excited about? The trailer was awesome, it has a stellar cast, and even though it may not be one of the year's highest grossing movies, it'll sure as hell be good.

2. The Avengers

The culmination of Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger, The Avengers is a fanboy''s wet dream. I am sure I speak for nearly every CBM user on this site, when I say that I'm sure as hell stoked for this movie! Everything about it looks like it'll make fans jizz repeatedly in the cinema (or "movie theater" if you're a yank" and seeing all these heroes up on the big screen is well, epic. Nothing else really needs to be said, as I'm sure we all know it by now.

1. The Dark Knight Rises

You were expecting this weren't ya? One of the most anticipated movies of next year, if not the decade, and is surely very high on a lot of fans "Top 10 Movies for 2012" list. Some have even gone as far to say that it will pull a Return of the King at the Oscars in 2013 and sweep the awards ceremony. Will it be any good? There's an extremely high chance it will be. Will it suck? Possibly, but whichever category it falls under it will still make boatloads of money at the box office. Why is that now? COS HE'S BATMAN!

I wouldn't put Snow White on this list because it looks like a pile of crap plus I can't stand Kristen Stewart. The rest are good.

@marvel72- I think he was referring to us both. I stated in the article that I'm not a fan of LotR, not everybody has to like the same things you like.

Movies I'm also excited about:

Looper by Rian Johnson (Brick) starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt & about time travel is also coming out.

Hunger Games -- loved the books and hopefully the movie will be a bloody and emotional good time.

Cabin in the Woods -- co-written by Joss Whedon, directed by Drew Goddard, and has already screened at Butt Numb a Thon, and was declared the unofficial winner of the marathon.

@marvel72- Exactly. For example, I know you're not the biggest fan of Nolan and I don't call you an idiot for that.

Did Intruder just put AVENGERS as #3 on his most anticipated list....?

I'd probably have Django Unchained, Chronicle and Bourne Legacy one here...plus Skyfall would be further up the list. Although I hate Kristen Stewart I dig the inclusion of Snow White and The Huntsman.

Nice list
