According to MSN and Russell's agent the beloved Professor of Gilligan's Island Russell Johnson dies of natural causes at the age of 89. Russell Johnson was the last surviving male castaway from Gilligan's Island that ran from 1964 to 1967. Johnson's acting career also included many early roles in western and sci-fi movies and TV shows. His career was at its peak in the late 1950s and to the early 1960's. He also appeared in two episodes of the "The Twilight Zone."

Yup I am a big fan of Gilligan's Island due to being raised on it as a child. So I had some spare time and thought I would do a article in tribute.

No but here is the original cast, the show was very silly but it was great for what it was. There are only two surviving members which is Ginger and Mary Ann.

The coolest professor on t.v.!I wish I had teachers like him in High School,learning would have been fun.Man,it's a hard pill to swallow,reruns of Gilligan's Island was one of my earliest memories of television as a child!
