THE DARK KNIGHT RISES' Anne Hathaway May Star In Warner Bros.' Live-Action SESAME STREET Movie
Warner Bros. is developing a live-action take on classic children's TV series Sesame Street, and a new report indicates that Academy Award-winner Anne Hathaway is circling the lead role. Check it out...
Though it sounds like talks are in the very early stages, Collider reports that Anne Hathaway (TDKR, Interstellar) is being eyed to star in Warner Bros.' live-action Sesame Street movie.
Jonathan Krisel's (Portlandia) big-screen take on the beloved children's TV show is being developed as a musical, with Shawn Levy (Stranger Things) on board as producer. The latest draft of the script was penned by The Kings of Summer writer Chris Galletta.
Hathaway is in line for the lead role of Sally, who just so happens to be the name of the young girl that appeared in the very first episode of the classic series. This has led to speculation that the Oscar-winning actress would actually be playing an older take on the same character, but that's yet to be confirmed.
If Hathaway were to sign on, it wouldn't be her first run-in with the cuddly denizens of Sesame Street.
