Though it sounds like talks are in the very early stages, Collider reports that Anne Hathaway (TDKR, Interstellar) is being eyed to star in Warner Bros.' live-action Sesame Street movie.

Jonathan Krisel's (Portlandia) big-screen take on the beloved children's TV show is being developed as a musical, with Shawn Levy (Stranger Things) on board as producer. The latest draft of the script was penned by The Kings of Summer writer Chris Galletta.

Hathaway is in line for the lead role of Sally, who just so happens to be the name of the young girl that appeared in the very first episode of the classic series. This has led to speculation that the Oscar-winning actress would actually be playing an older take on the same character, but that's yet to be confirmed.

If Hathaway were to sign on, it wouldn't be her first run-in with the cuddly denizens of Sesame Street.

I'm for this.

The more Sesame Street on TV and movies, the better. With the people connected reading this, I have high hopes. Although, i'm not a big fan of Hathaway.

Aren't all Sesame Street movies or shows "live-action"?

@KindredMac - Yeah, but so many of these get animated or CGI reboots that I just wanted to specify that it was sticking to the original format. I assume they won't use CG muppets at least.
