RUMOR: Marvel To Cancel & Replace Netflix IRON FIST Series With PUNISHER?
With Daredevil out, Jessica Jones coming, and Luke Cage currently filming; it seems out of all of Marvel's Netflix shows Iron Fist is having the most trouble. Latest rumor states that Iron Fist won't happen and a Punisher series will replace it. Click to check it out.
As we all know Marvel and Netflix has come together to do shows based on Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist to lead up to a Defenders show. Earlier this year, Daredevil Season 1 was released. Jessica Jones will be out in less than a month. Daredevil Season 2 and Luke Cage are currently filming. But what of Iron Fist? We've seen rumors from respectable sites claiming Marvel has no idea what to do with Iron Fist to the Iron Fist series may be canceled. The latest rumor states that Iron Fist won't happen and his show will be replaced with a Punisher show starting Jon Bernthal. The good people at Peel The Orange claim:
Marvel can’t quite seem to figure out how to put Iron Fist into the equation and time is running out. They’re very pleased with how Jon Bernthal’s portrayal of Frank Castle for Season 2 of Daredevil and know that the fans have a great appreciation for the character. They also know that a Punisher series would be much cheaper and more marketable. They have a contract with Netflix and have to do something. It appears that for this phase of shows, time is running thin for Iron Fist.
The points made seem logically and reasonable. A Punisher show would be cheaper to make and far more marketable then Iron Fist who people probably don't know. What are your thoughts?
