Looks like we might see a Ghostbusters type movie before we see Ghostbusters 3

Shocktillyoudrop.com has the story, also thanks to The Hollywood Reporter.

Ian Fried has sold Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures on his story Spectral.

The Hollywood Reporter says it's a "dark" and "gritty" take on the Ghostbusters formula.

In Spectral, a special ops force - trained in hunting the supernatural - go up against ghosts that have taken over Manhattan.

Fried got some Hollywood attention over the summer when his Florence Nightingale and Jack the Ripper script, Gaslight, made the rounds.
