Ready Player One is expected to have a major presence at SXSW this weekend, with Deadline even confirming today that the Steven Spielberg-directed film will indeed hold its world premiere during the festival on March 15th, which means initial reactions to the film are just over a week away.
In an effort to add to the hype, Warner Bros. has released twelve nostalgia-infused new posters that pay homage to some of the biggest films of the last several decades, including Back to the Future, The Matrix, Blade Runner, The Breakfast Club, Risky Business, and a lot more. Plus, they've also released a new TV spot that gives us our first look at Batman making a quick appearance in the film.

Back to the Future
After a rough life in the Stacks, Wade Watts a.k.a. Parzival (Tye Sheridan) seeks a better reality and borrows Marty McFly's DeLorean to help him in his quest to find James Halliday's (Mark Rylance) elusive Easter Egg.

Beetlejuice
The entire High Five, which consists of Parzival (Tye Sheridan), Art3mis (Olivia Cooke), Aech (Lena Waithe), Daito (Win Morisaki), and Shoto (Philip Zhao), assembles on this neat poster that pays homage to the Michael Keaton classic Beetlejuice.
(Let's say it two more times just to be safe: Beetlejuice. Beetlejuice.)

Blade Runner
Parzival (Tye Sheridan) channels Harrison Ford's Rick Deckard while Art3mis (Olivia Cooke) stands in for Sean Young's Rachael on this awesome piece that homages Ridley Scott's original sci-fi classic Blade Runner.

The Breakfast Club
It seems like almost every new coming-of-age movie, including last year's Spider-Man: Homecoming, is paying tribute to The Breakfast Club nowadays and this time, it's the High Five of Ready Player One that recreates the iconic poster for the classic John Hughes film.

Bullitt
Parzival (Tye Sheridan) takes a page out of Steve McQueen's book on this relatively simplistic poster that pays tribute to the 1968 Peter Yates-directed thriller film Bullitt.

The Goonies
The High Five, which consists of Parzival (Tye Sheridan), Art3mis (Olivia Cooke), Aech (Lena Waithe), Daito (Win Morisaki), and Shoto (Philip Zhao), sub in for The Goonies on this fun new poster homage.

The Iron Giant
Considering that The Iron Giant will actually feature in Ready Player One, there really wasn't much to be done to recreate this poster as it's nearly identical to the original one-sheet, although there is one key difference if you zoom in close enough with Parzival now being held in the friendly Giant's hand.

Labyrinth
Art3mis (Olivia Cooke) steals the show on this poster that pays tribute to the David Bowie/Jennifer Connelly musical dark fantasy classic, Labyrinth. Parzival (Tye Sheridan) and the rest of the High Five also feature along with other characters from the highly-anticipated Steven Spielberg blockbuster.

The Lost Boys
The High Five of Ready Player One become The Lost Boys on this poster that pays homage to the Joel Schumacher-directed horror thriller comedy from 1987.

The Matrix
Parzival becomes The One on this (somewhat poorly photoshopped) poster that pays homage to one of the greatest sci-fi films of our generation, The Matrix.

Rambo: First Blood Part II
"Alright, that’s enough of this insubordination! If the machine breaks down, we break down. Hey, man, you know how in Rambo I, he was big but a little puffy and then Rambo II, he got all shredded up?"
Tropic Thunder quotes aside, this poster sees Parzival (Tye Sheridan) step into the rocket launcher-wielding hands of the one-and-only John Rambo as he gears up for the mission of a lifetime.

Risky Business
Here's arguably the best poster of the bunch as we see Parzival (Tye Sheridan) borrow Tom Cruise's shades as he officially enters his name into the competition that could change his reality forever. Art3mis (Olivia Cooke) also features, taking on Rebecca De Mornay's role atop Wade's DeLorean.
