SPOILERS: Major Reveals About SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY From Those Leaked Toys You Need To Know
A wealth of Solo: A Star Wars Story merchandise recently surfaced and we've taken a close up look at all of it to figure out what it reveals about the movie and why you should be excited for the spinoff...
Last week, a new wave of Solo: A Star Wars Story toys found their way online (you can check them out by clicking here) and gave us our first look at the movie which is four months away from being released but still hasn't premiered so much as a single image (there's also no news on the trailer's debut).
However, that doesn't mean we don't know more about the spinoff than we did this time last week and we've scoured through those toys to bring you a look at all of the biggest reveals and spoilers.
From character names to set pieces, plot twists, and even potential villains, we've got your must-see guide to Solo here and you might find yourself vastly more excited for the movie than when you started reading by the time all is said and done. So, click the buttons below to read this full list of details...
Han Solo In Disguise
Han disguised himself as a Stormtrooper in A New Hope but that's clearly not the first time he's dressed up as an Imperial! Both Han and his mentor Tobias Beckett can be seen in Imperial uniforms in this set and it's interesting that they come bundled with a TIE Fighter. Could it be that they steal the ship? Either way, we meet a unique looking trooper here called the Mimban Stormtrooper.
More New Look Stormtroopers
Rogue One featured classic Stormtroopers but kept things fresh by introducing a handful of new designs based on the terrain they fight in. In Solo, we're getting Range Troopers and a new take on the Speeder Bikes from Return of the Jedi and as the set is named "Imperial Patrol," Han could be trying to sneak past them at some point in the movie (something he's had mixed fortunes with over the years).
Landspeeders
We've known for a while the landspeeders will play a role in Solo and two of them can be seen in these sets. The first features Han and Qi'Ra, while the second includes characters called Moloch and Rebolt. They both look like bad guys and it seems a safe bet to say they end up chasing down the movie's heroes for some reason. However, also of interest is the creatures included in both sets.
Corellian Hounds
Will Solo finally take us to Han's home of Corellia? It certainly appears to be the case as vicious looking Corellian hounds can be seen here, seemingly part of the pursuit of Han and Qi'Ra. These don't look like Porgs but expect there to be plenty of toy versions of them hitting stores a little later this year.
A Very Different Millennium Falcon
Solo will clearly show the Falcon off in its prime as the nose of the ship is totally different and its colouring points to it possibly being part of a fleet of some sort before it's repainted to resemble the hunk of junk we all know and love. Chances are we'll learn why the front of the ship is changed at some point in this movie and I'm betting it's because it winds up getting destroyed during a space battle.
Chewbacca's Missing A Familiar Weapon
In The Force Awakens, we got to see Han Solo use Chewbacca's bowcaster for the first time and it appears as if it might be up to this movie to tell the story of how the Wookie first came across that. In the LEGO sets, Chewie can be seen wielding a rifle, a good excuse for Disney to sell a new range of toys and a sign that we may get a forced moment where he picks the bowcaster up and decides to keep it.
Qi'Ra
Emilia Clarke's character finally has a name! However, these sets do nothing other than confirming that she'll be joining Han on a number of his adventures and that surely points to her being a love interest. The question is, where was she when the events of A New Hope took place? Perhaps she'll die!
A Visit To Kessel
We've all heard how the Millennium Falcon made the Kessel Run in twelve parsecs and this LEGO set confirms that one of the movie's set pieces will revolve around that iconic but unseen moment in Star Wars history. There's even a bright red Kessel Operation droid thrown in for good mix and seeing as this set includes another very unique looking droid, it could be that these two will accompany Han.
Lando Calrissian
There's only a single sighting of Lando in these first LEGO sets and that's as part of the Kessel Run. That presumably means we'll see Han win it off him as that's one part of Star Wars lore which remains in tact despite the Expanded Universe being wiped away when Disney purchased Lucasfilm for $4 billion.
The Movie's Real Big Bad?
In the Kessel Run set is a very strange looking character called Quay Tolsite. Could it be that he's Solo's big bad? We've not heard much about villains yet and while we know the Imperials will play a role, it's feasible this is someone Han crosses as he takes the Millennium Falcon on the Kessel Run!
