Star Wars: The Last Jedi divided the fanbase in a big way, and the creative decisions filmmaker Rian Johnson made are still hotly debated to this very day.
Even the negative response to The Rise of Skywalker has failed to take attention away from this 2017 film, and the way Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker was portrayed is the main reason for that. There are still plenty of reasons to love this middle chapter, however, with the Porgs near the top of the list.
Those adorable little critters won all our hearts, and just so happened to deliver one of The Last Jedi's funniest scenes as well. While Chewbacca chows down on one of the creatures, a number of them start watching him, with the "Sad Porg" quickly going viral online. Well, guess what? Johnson was actually able to take that prop home after being gifted it from the film's creature department!
The director praised their work in a follow-up Tweet, and confirmed that it's a full-blown animatronic. We can't imagine this is the only prop Johnson has, but it's surely one of the most impressive.
It definitely beats a Sad Porg Funko Pop, huh?
