After the mixed reaction of Alien 3, 20th Century Fox set out to make yet another chapter in the Alien series and this time making a clone of Ellen Ripley, 200 years after her death. They employed the help of Joss Whedon, who at that time was known for his work on Buffy The Vampire Slayer. By looking at the pre production phase, and even the trailers, it seemed like Alien Resurrection would be a sure fire hit. And well...not really. Although it made a decent amount at the box office, Alien Resurrection was not well recieved by audiences, who thought it to be far inferior to the previous films that came before it.

After Alien Resurrection came and went, as well as two failures of the Aliens and Predator crossover, Ridley Scott came back to the game with his prequel to Alien, Prometheus. Prometheus was a very ambiguous movie, one that left a lot of people scratching their heads. But for most people, they found it to be a relatively enjoyable Sci-fi thriller with enough twists and turns to keep Alien fans happy. Full reviews below:

How does Prometheus hold up in your mind? Is it complete space garbage, or is it an underappreciated masterpiece?
