Commitment To STAR TREK 3 Forces Roberto Orci To Depart POWER RANGERS Reboot
Depending on whether or not you're a fan of movies like Transformers and The Amazing Spider-Man 2, the news that Star Trek 3 director Robero Orci is too busy to get his hands on the Power Rangers reboot will either be welcomed or very disappointing. Read on for details!
According to Deadline, Roberto Orci has been forced to drop out of the Power Rangers reboot due to his commitments to Paramount Pictures' third instalment in the Star Trek franchise (J.J. Abrams isn't back in the director's chair for that one due to his own scheduling conflict caused by working on Star Wars Episode VII). However, while he will no longer produce the movie, THOR contributors Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz are still writing a script based on his story idea as was previously announced. This take on Power Rangers is a modern reinvention of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, a group of ordinary high school kids who find themselves infused with extraterrestrial powers and must harness those powers as a team to save the world. It's currently set to be released on July 22nd, 2016. No director or cast have been attached as of yet.
