Don't Worry, JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM's Trailer Doesn't Spoil The Final Act

Return to Isla Nublar in the first trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom which, according to executive producer Colin Trevorrow, is only comprised of footage from the first 57 minutes of the film.

We love trailers, but there's no denying studios tend to go a little overboard, sometimes including clips that range in spoiler territory. That doesn't appear to be the case with Universal's Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, which received its first trailer last night.

The earth-shattering trailer finally gave fans a bit of context for the film along with a heavy dose of dino action, some of which fans worried could have been taken from the third act of the film. Fret not, Colin Trevorrow, writer and executive producer for Fallen Kingdom, confirmed to fans that everything in the trailer was taken from just the first 57 minutes of the movie.

Assuming Fallen Kingdom has a similar runtime to its predecessor (around 2 hours), this would mean that all of that action is contained within the first half of the film. That certainly sets the stage for an epic second half filled with even more dinosaurs and bigger explosions.

It’s been four years since theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World was destroyed by dinosaurs out of containment.  Isla Nublar now sits abandoned by humans while the surviving dinosaurs fend for themselves in the jungles.

When the island’s dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event.  Owen is driven to find Blue, his lead raptor who’s still missing in the wild, and Claire has grown a respect for these creatures she now makes her mission.  Arriving on the unstable island as lava begins raining down, their expedition uncovers a conspiracy that could return our entire planet to a perilous order not seen since prehistoric times.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom hits theaters June 22, 2018.

@Krampus - I mean I’ll probably enjoy the film and like later trailers, this one just seemed a bit oddly cut. Can’t wait for the movie tho :)

Does not matter, they messed up big-time. The trailer was bland/underwhelming with the plot heavily stated with each surprise revealed. They shouldn't have shown the volcano erupting and they shouldn't have had such obvious plot statements as having a character explain to the other what they are doing in the first 57 minutes of the movie.

The first 57 minutes of the movie are now pointless because we know how that aspect of the movie is structured and how it ends with the volcano exploding, the island is destroyed and any surviving dinosaurs are taken to the mainland.

It sounds essentially like the plot of 'Jurassic Park 2; The Lost World' just with more of an excuse for the Dinosaurs to leave the island.

Maybe there will be a few twists and turns, but the volcano eruption makes everything that happens on that island pointless - as we know the next part of the movie would have to focus on the Dinosaurs being elsewhere and because of the genre, we know the Dinosaurs would need to escape/rampage.

@Scarilian - Well it is a trailer! Lets be honest, most trailers give too much away! So if you want to be surprised then don't watch it. It is the same with the last jedi and the same with Thor.

I got a few friends that just stopped watching trailers / unless in the theatre.

@Scarilian - This sounds exactly like the complaints people about Homecoming, which turned out to be dead wrong.

Still looks bad. The plot is the exact same as JP3. Go back to get whatever and things happen. Dumb. JW was dumb this will be too. BDH is not entertaining and Pratt is still just playing dumb. Ugh. Lots of dumb.

Not much interest to begin with and now after a trailer viewing...even less. Star power is not enough. You'd better bring a compelling story and some originality. The plot synopsis sounded absolutely blechhh. This is the best they could do? With dinosaurs?! And why did they hang onto Opie chick? even more blechhh.

Well I for one am excited for this. I absolutely don't get the hate that jurassic world seems to get around these parts. Everyone I know really enjoyed that, just as I did. I doubt they'll ever be at jurassic park's level of quality but neither were lost world or jurassic park 3. Hoping for the best with this one.

@ThouBear8 - Bottom line: You don't have a Marvel Studios logo slapped in front of ya, you're trash to a majority of users here. I keep thinking it's time to migrate to a less biased news site, but I can't think of any alternatives. I could just avoid the comments, but sue me, I like talking to other fans. Or used to.

@Optimist18 - I try to give all studios a fair shot. & I've always loved both DC & marvel. There a few rational users on here, but admittedly they're hard to find.

The Dinos ate dozens of people, injured hundreds more, ruined my company, destroyed decades worth of work, cost us billions in property damage and ended my career. Let's save the dinos.

I know it's a movie about genetically engineered dinosaurs so realism is already set at a low, but it always take me out of a movie when smoke covers someone like that. I'm always think "Well there dead from smoke inhalation.

I swear sometimes you people don’t know how to have fun lol. Compelling story? Well written characters? Ok with the small exception of a point here or there...when did any of this franchises movies have any of that? Lol it’s a big budget popcorn dinosaur flick where the special effects are the star. That’s always been the case either each of these films, would have thought y’all would have learned that by now lmfao
