Don't Worry, JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM's Trailer Doesn't Spoil The Final Act

We love trailers, but there's no denying studios tend to go a little overboard, sometimes including clips that range in spoiler territory. That doesn't appear to be the case with Universal's Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, which received its first trailer last night.

The earth-shattering trailer finally gave fans a bit of context for the film along with a heavy dose of dino action, some of which fans worried could have been taken from the third act of the film. Fret not, Colin Trevorrow, writer and executive producer for Fallen Kingdom, confirmed to fans that everything in the trailer was taken from just the first 57 minutes of the movie.

Assuming Fallen Kingdom has a similar runtime to its predecessor (around 2 hours), this would mean that all of that action is contained within the first half of the film. That certainly sets the stage for an epic second half filled with even more dinosaurs and bigger explosions.

It’s been four years since theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World was destroyed by dinosaurs out of containment.  Isla Nublar now sits abandoned by humans while the surviving dinosaurs fend for themselves in the jungles.

When the island’s dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event.  Owen is driven to find Blue, his lead raptor who’s still missing in the wild, and Claire has grown a respect for these creatures she now makes her mission.  Arriving on the unstable island as lava begins raining down, their expedition uncovers a conspiracy that could return our entire planet to a perilous order not seen since prehistoric times.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom hits theaters June 22, 2018.
