Deadline reports that the speculation surrounding a 3D conversion of Jurassic Park has now been confirmed as Universal set a release date for July 19th, 2013. There has been talk of either this or a fourth instalment for a while, and releasing the original (and arguably best) film of the three is a good way of introducing a whole new generation to the franchise. In other news, the Joseph Kosinski directed Oblivion has been brought forward from July 10th, 2013 to April 26, 2013.

3D conversions are terrible....this would excite me if every 3D converted movie i've unfortunately watched wasn't awful. Watching Avengers in 2D, if my local cinema allows that is. John Carter was only available in 3D...and the conversion was blurry and flat.

Jurassic Park is one of those movies I can watch over and over and over. It never get's boring or old, I love the hell out of it. Definitely going to be in the theater for this one.

Jurassic Park is easily one of my favorite movies. There goes my money, regrettably.

Hollywood is trying to milk as much money out of 3D as they can until people realize the post production conversion is complete shit. If it isn't shot in 3D I won't even consider paying for 3D.

It makes me feel a little old that a film from the year I was born is getting an anniversary re-release.

I don't even care about the 3D I just want to see JP on the big screen once more. One of the best movie going experiences I ever had.

Although I disagree with these mostly pointless 3D conversions I never got to see JP on the big screen as I was too young and my parents thought I'd be frightened lol, so I will be going to see this finally on the big screen. Plus it's out the same time as Man of Steel, summer 2013 looks good already.
