For hopefully the last time, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom director J.A. Bayona was asked about the footwear of Bryce Dallas Howard's character Claire in the upcoming sequel. While the first trailer alluded that Claire will finally be ditching the heels that caused so much uproar in Jurassic World, there's still some looking for solid confirmation. Thankfully, J.A. Bayona has confirmed, hopefully once and for all, that Claire will not be sporting high heels in Fallen Kingdom, but instead much more appropriate footwear.

Asked by Cinepop if we will see Claire run in high heels, Bayona responded, "No, no. Definitely, she's more prepared in this one. In the first movie it was more like she was caught by surprise," the director explained. "In this one, she's totally ready and prepared for the adventure."

Claire's heels have become somewhat of a running joke within the franchise, especially as the media became absolutely obsessed with the scene in Jurassic World of her outrunning the T-Rex in them. It was a huge moment for the character, overshadowed by something as silly as footwear. Now that Claire has the proper attire in the sequel, the focus can hopefully be more on her as a character, and less about her wardrobe.

Asked how Claire stands out in Fallen Kingdom, Bayona revealed, "I think we were very aware, doing said, about that and we work a lot in trying to make Claire a very strong character. She's smart. She has a very emotional side, but also she's very physically tough. I think she's a very complete character."

"The film starts with Clarie looking for Owen. She's the one convincing him to join her and go back to the island to rescue the dinosaurs. She has as much an important role as Owen has in the story this time," the director assured.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is set to hit theaters June 22, 2018.

Cool, but I still want a new trailer. The first one they released didn't excite me one bit. Quite disappointed actually considering that I've loved every movie by the director J.A Bayona

"...the media became absolutely obsessed with the scene..."

Was it "obsession" or just more click-bait/reasons to have articles (like this one). If the media is "obsessed" over anything, it is with selling advertising. If one site runs an article on the infamous "running with heals" scene, then another site will have something to print. And then another one, and so on. They need articles. Now many sites print the story and it is labeled an "obsession". But, it really isn't an obsession, is it? Just websites needed articles for advertising.

I also like the "...running joke..." line. I'm not sure if the pun was intended, but, either way, I liked it.

This is in my top ten almost exclusively due to JA Bayona. The Impossible is an absolutely incredible film. I am so excited to see what he does with JA Bayona, and Warner Bros. NEEDS to pick him up for the next Man of Steel standalone film.
