Ever since the trailer launch in August, we've been wondering "why are they here" and today, we finally get an answer as Denis Villeneuve's critically acclaimed sci-fi drama Arrival hits theaters worldwide. 

The feature stars 5x Academy Award-nominee Amy Adams (Justice League) in the lead role as Dr. Louise Banks, an expert linguist recruited by the military to help them greet and communicate with Earth's alien visitors to prevent an all-out global war. She's joined in her quest by 2x Academy Award-nominee Jeremy Renner (Avengers: Infinity War) as Ian Donnelly and Academy Award-winner Forest Whitaker (Black Panther) as Colonel Weber.

ARRIVAL is a provocative science fiction thriller from acclaimed director Denis Villeneuve (SICARIO, PRISONERS). I've heard mixed things and the trailers haven't really sold me on the movie. Hopefully the film is different and you enjoy it.

Christina Hodson is scripting some untitled DC movie set to be on the DCEU

Saw it last night. Loved it and it'll probably have a place in my top 10 of the year. Defines the kind of movie to go into knowing as little as possible. I feel like audiences not into it will be because of certain expectations of what an "alien visiting" Earth movie should be. This is more Close Encounters than War of the Worlds.

Very thoughtful and moving.
