RoboCop Trilogy Blu-ray Giveaway: Two Sets Available

Just in time for the holiday season, this three disc set from MGM Home Entertainment contains the original ROBOCOP on Blu-ray, as well as ROBOCOP 2 and ROBOCOP 3 on Blu-ray for the first time.

Packed full of memorable moments and Robocop quotes, the ROBOCOP TRILOGY is a fan must-have. Viewers can experience their favorite “human” robot in all three classic films, now on Blu-ray. Directors Paul Verhoeven (Totall Recall, Basic Instinct) of ROBOCOP, Irvin Kershner of ROBOCOP 2 and Fred Dekker (Monster Squad Forever, Nighs of the Creeps) of ROBOCOP 3 bring the half robot, half police officer to life with the help of an intensely talented cast, including Peter Weller (The Order; 24), Robert Burke (Good Night, and Good Luck; Tombstone), Kurtwood Smith (Rambo III; That 70’s Show) and Nancy Allen (Law and Order, Carrie).

In ROBOCOP (1987), a terminally wounded cop in crime-ridden Detroit returns to the force as a powerful cyborg with submerged memories haunting him. ROBOCOP 2 (1990) features a corrupt businesswoman seeking to disable Robocop in favor of her own model of cyborg. In ROBOCOP 3 (1993) Robocop saves the day once more. This time the half man/half robot takes on ruthless developers who want to evict some people on "their" land.

To win one of two copies of the RoboCop Trilogy on Blu-ray, simply share your feelings about the character and/or the franchise, and the editors will pick the two winners from the responses. Winners will be announced on Wednesday, October 6th. Good luck!

Robocop trilogy was great. I love the first movie, the second was darker, but not as dark funny, and the third was horrible. PG-13? Really? ROBO[frick]INGCOP? Lets not forget Asian Ninja Androids.

OMFG!!!! This would be so totally AWESOME to have!!! I don't even own these on DVD yet, only got the crappy VHS versions LMAO. Plus, i don't care what lashings i get but i actually LOVED the 3rd one as much as the others! Even if i can agree that it wasn't as quality filmed as the first two, that was one of the few films where Rip Thorn DIDN'T get on my nerves LOL ;P

Favorite quotes:

"Can you fly, Bobby?"

"Well give the man a hand!" LOL

"C'mon Sal, the Dodgers are playing... TO-NITE! And i never miss a game."

It's all about Clarence J. Boddicker, Baby ;)

Grif- YEAH! That would make an awesome poster!!!

Ummm....I would like them because unlike most others I don't have them even on DVD yet. Oh yeah, and that's my wife's nickname. Oh yeah, and because Kanye West wrote a song called Robocop, and I bet I'm the only one who knew that. Come on dudes!

I grew up watching Robocop along with other 80s classics on TBS. As a kid, I was vastly impacted by the incredible mythos created for the film--the dystopian society, the sociopolitical commentary, and the obsession with greed. It was a dark future which deserved a dark hero. Needless to say, I loved it! There was nothing cooler than putting on my plastic motorcycle helmet and hiding a toy gun in my cargo pants so I could pretend I was Robocop. "Dead or alive, you're coming with me." "Your move, creep." So how do I feel about Robocop? The same way Dave felt about calling himself Voltron in the movie HOT ROD--Super Bad Ass.

And if you don't believe me, here is her photoshopped image I made, just before hacking her facebook and putting it up there, haha. I would really like one of those sets to give her for Christmas!!!

I too don't even have these on dvd. and I love these flicks. The over the top violence, a freakier looking peter weller, and Kurtwood Smith blowing shit up. I don't think you can go wrong with that.

I grew up with Robocop... Who doesn't love the movies. There is a place in my heart for all 3. Nothing like seeing Peter Weller get shot to hell in the first one. Plus who doesn't love seeing robocop with jet packs in 3!

Seeing this in Blu-Ray will be f*cking amazing! The scene when he blows up the gas station would be perfect to test my new dual sub-woofer 7.1channel HT system!

Thanks for the opportunity and I love the site!

The first time I saw these movies I knew that I was way to young to be watching them but I watched them all anyways and it opened the door for awesome 80's/90's action movies for me. I credit robocop for all the badass action stars I grew up watching. Thanks.

The 2nd Robocop Movie is the only one I have actually seen but I thought it was great. The character Robocop was bad @$$ and I would like to see the other movies if I got the chance.

First time i saw robocop i was with my dad, He said watch this and you will love it. I was like 5 and even though it was pretty graphic i loved it. I always wanted to spin my plastic gun in my hand and through it in my holster like he did. We watched it many times when i was younger. It always makes me think of him and how awesome my dad was for showing it to his 5 yr old

Ever since I was a kid, I've always loved the theme song for Robocop, just gets you a bit pumped. Didnt realize how violent the movie was until I watched it again last year on my PSP.

I love Robocop and the Robocop franchise. I actually even loved the cartoons (including Alpha Commando). I even have the Avatar Comics Frank Miller's Robocop that was his original script for Robocop 2. My favorite by far, though, is Robocop Vs. Terminator from Dark Horse. The third film slipped a little, obviously, but the entire concept and execution of Robocop was wonderful and the character has so much more potential. I am eagerly awaiting the remake to see what they do with it.

I just got 1&2 on DVD still not sure if i want to buy 3. I definitely feel the movie was groundbreaking. Anybody notice the play on product placement and the family games like "nuke em" etc...so relevant today. Also, privatization of security. OCP was the original Blackwater.

I love the first two Robocop movies. They were done perfectly. They showed how I always imagined the future would be like when I was young, and I am still sure that one day it will come about that way. Robocop was good because unlike the Terminator, which I love, Robocop had a real reason to kill. He was a man with a vengence, and that is why I liked him. I also liked how he was made, how they were going to keep his one arm, but then the doctor tells them to cut it off. It makes you wonder the whole time if he is more human or machine. He has the memories, but basically he is just a little tissue. I think these movies shouldnt be touched with a reboot. I know Darren Aronofski was going to make one, well unless it is a director like him, I do not want to see it. Nothing touches the origional.

Classic movies though, except for 3. That movie was shit in my opinion. Robocop should never be PG-13. He's the Rated-R superstar!!! Think it over creep. LOL!!!

I need to see how Red Foreman got his start and it's the next best thing after reading Robocop vs Terminator.

The franchise (Movies, Comics, and the DataEast Video Games) rocked some serious @$$!! Great concept, well translated into film. The comics (even the Mad Magazine spoof: RoboCrap) were great, as well, and had a really gritty, "Megacorp vs. the Everyman", feel to them. We'll not even discuss how early I could have bought my first car if not for the arcade game...jeesh.

This is one series that I'd LOVE to see done currently, Robocop 2 (Not the movie, but Cain, himself) would look awesome with today's CGI.

Still think the best quote is from the first one...when Boddiker walks in on the snotty Bob Morton (played by a young Miguel Ferrer) and his two coke-nosed hookers...

"Bitches, leave!"

Classic!

When I was a kid, Robocop was the man! I remember seeing the first movie and just feeling that it was going to be awesome. The scenes where Robocop takes on the ED-209 was so good words couldn't describe it.

I was even a fan of Robocop 3 when he got a jet-pack and fought samurai robots. I didn't care, I was 7 years old and just thought that no matter who you sent against Robocop he'd win no matter what. These movies will always have a special place in my heart and I am sure that the remake will be nowhere near as great as the original.
